As the Insomnia theme music dies down and the cameras pan the capacity crowd, the loyal Asylum Inmates raise the roof in anticipation for tonight's show. The dying embers of the spectacular opening pyro show fade into nothingness
Tex: Welcome to Monday Night Insomnia!! This crowd is buzzing with excitement for what promises to be yet another explosive night here in the Wachovia Center here in Philadelphia... Good to see you've switched to orange juice for tonight, Duff...
Duff has just snapped open a brew whilst plonking his feet up on the announcers desk, Tex shaking his head.. his words saturated in sarcasm
Duff: With what's been going on lately, Tex.. i don't know whether i'm hallucinating through alcohol abuse or John Irons really is in Aruba and NOT enjoying the fine ladies out there!!
Tex: I'm pretty sure he has other things on his mind right now, if i can be completely honest...
Suddenly, "Animal" by Pearl Jam slams into the arena through the giant PA rig and interupts the two commentators. The crowd, barely settled, raise to their feet and dispense an electrical reaction
Duff: Oh for christ sake! Talk about getting things off to a crappy start...
Tex: Here comes the General Manager... his return in the Buried Alive match restoring the balance once more!!
As Eddie Vedder launches into the verse lyrics, white pyro's erupt from the stage area before Canis steps out from behind the curtain and absorbs the warm Florida welcome, his trademark smirk spread across his face more so than usual. After the pyro's have died down, he steps on to the ramp and makes his way to the ring, microphone in hand and dressed in his usual casual suit attire. After making his way up the steps and through the ropes, he calls for the music to cut and waits for the crowd to settle down, which takes a few moments
..... I'm baaaaacckkk...
A loud cheer rings around the Wachovia Center
Unfortunately i wasn't offered the same top quality hospitality that Jonathan Porter has reserved for my friend and ally, John Irons... but i guess he's not as consistant as he'd like you all to believe.
I have been away... but not recovering from whatever psychological scars Mr Porter seems to think he has inflicted. Poor show, Jonathan... poor show. I had worse inflicted on me by a podgy Priest and his band of bankers over ten years than you could offer. As the great John Cleese would say.. "'Tis but a scratch."
But funny business aside, i've actually been taking in some soul searching. It's been pretty full throttle since i took over here as General Manager thanks to Goth's lack of foresight and i haven't found time to think outside this little box we call the Asylum. I wouldn't have had it any other way of course because the Rebellion has achieved exactly what i wanted it to achieve and it is winning the war, whether the two brothers like it or not. Balance has been restored and you, the fans, are being rewarded for your loyalty. I hope Porter recognises that when he next opens his dirty mouth...
Another large pop for the General Manager
And yes, while i was away, he did set up a nice little match that both you and i enjoyed very much... though i must say, the best part for me was about the last thirty seconds, watching Ronin grab the Universal Title and hold it high above his head at the second time of asking. Which begs the question... how many more chances do you need Jonathan? You always seem to fall at the last hurdle, not realising that you just don't cut it before trying again... like a kid at the fairground on the Strongman Strikers, sledging away and spending an age trying to hit that bell at the top, only for someone else to come along and hit it at the first or second time of asking. I think that little undoing of all your macho words is why you're such a bitter, bitter man and why you decided to head back under the wing of your brother, Goth. I can't help but find huge dollops of irony in everything you say...
But what i did hear was you moaning once again about my match choices, in particular.. your opponents. Last week, you faced Faust.. a new addition to the roster and one with a lot of potential. But once again, you seem to think i made this match for you, that i made it to try and throw a spanner in your works. Well guess what?
Not everything is about you, Jonathan..
You ponce around with that tub of lard, Vic Gillot and the rest of your men in black thinking you're some sort of big shot. Well, hate to break it to you, Jonathan.. but to be a big shot around here, you gotta hold the gold. And that means becoming Universal Champion. Until then, step down from your pedastal, get in line and quietly wait your turn. Our ears could do with the rest.
Suddenly a beer can lands about two feet away from Canis' foot, spilling a little remaining beer onto the canvas. Canis' head snaps round to see Duff berating somebody in the front row, as Tex holds his head in his hands, shaking it from side to side. Canis shakes it from his mind and continues
Tex: You're an idiot sometimes, you know that?
Duff: WHAT?! That was this little punk behind me!!
Tex: Sure.. so where's your beer?
Duff has already cracked open a fresh can, smirking at Tex before gulping a mouth full
Tex: I give up..
You see, the reason i signed this match off was to test out Faust to get a gauge of where he's at.. and you are, i admit, a top athlete here and a veteran of the ring. So who better to put him up against? But your paranoid ramblings about me having alterior motives just confirm your sheer desperation as of late... and it's something that's kept me amused for the past few weeks.
But if you're having doubts about my ability to excite our loyal AWA fans and give them the sort of matches this Asylum demands, then i have a proposition for you. Hell, it's not a proposition... it's happening, whether you like it or not.
This Wrestle Quest.. you will face Ronin for the Universal Championship, a shot you earned fair and square. But this won't be any ordinary kind of match... no.... It will be a Three Stages of Hell match!!
The crowd erupt into cheers again... guaranteed carnage at Wrestle Quest II!
That's right, you and Ronin will have to endure potentially three different types of matches in one night.. best two out of three, of course....
Stage one.. will be a falls count anywhere, no disqualification contest for one fall...
Duff: WOO!!!
Stage two... Will be a glass tables and tacks match! This will be played to standard Tables Match rules, with the added bonus of each table being covered in shards of glass and thumb tacks!
Tex: If that's stage two.. what the hell is stage three?!
And should you find the need for a third and final deciding stage.... you will have to endure a Hardcore Rules Last Man Standing match!!! Whoever manages to knock out their open for a ten count will be declared the winner and NEW Universal Champion!!
The volume levels have already hit the roof here in Philadelphia! Canis is riling the fans into a frenzied excitement for Wrestle Quest II
THAT Jonathan is what you call a match. Now quit your whining and get back to business... i've had enough of your shit. And Duff... expect to find your wage packet a little lighter at the end of this month.
The crowd maintains the roaring levels of before as "Animal" once again blasts through the arena speakers. Canis throws the microphone under-arm to Stacy with a wink before leaving the ring and heading backstage. Duff is sat with a shocked and pissed off look across is face whilst Tex is laughing
Duff: He can't do that!!
Tex: I think you'll find he just did!
Duff: But.. but i have a family to feed!!
Tex: Hate to break it to you pal, but that beer gut doesn't count as family.. and you haven't seen your son in sixteen years..
Duff: I PAY MAINTENANCE!!
Tex: Then cancel the cheque...
The camera cuts back stage and we can see the Masked wonder, The Maverick Andy Martindale. The camera zooms in on Maverick who is sat inside his locker room preparing for what is set to be a vicious submission match against Modo. Andy looks up at the camera with a look of confidence that can just be seen in his eyes through his mask as he speaks.
Maverick: Modo, I know you are watching this so listen up. We've been verbally trashing each other all week, and now the time has come to take action. In mere moments you will step into the ring with me, and you're going to attempt to make me tap out. Yeah, good luck with that! Tonight, after all is said and done, you will be laying on the floor in a broken heap, with me standing over you victorious after making you tap out. Hell, just for kicks I may even use the sharpshooter on ya, either way, you are going to tap out. That's just how it's going to be, it's what you get for messing with the best! Now, while I'm here I might as well address this whole situation with my mask. It has no meaning to me what so ever. I'm not a luchador or anything like it, it is simply being worn to hide my true identity, The thing is, I've been saying since I arrived here in the AWA that I'm here purely for the chance to get the Universal Championship, but the truth is, there is another reason. I used to be in the GWA, and during my time there I got screwed by someone who is now on the AWA roster. I guess you could say then, that I'm here for revenge of some sort. That revenge will be served, but I'm not going to reveal who the person I'm coming for is. He will know as soon as I unmask and reveal my true identity that he's the one I'm coming for, and he's going to regret ever doing what he did to me back in the GWA. So, until then let the mind games commence people, because this masked psycho is about to go on the war path, and none of you know who's going to be my next victim, so you better be looking over your damn shoulder every chance you get!
Martindale shoves past the camera man and starts to laugh as the scene switches back to ringside for the next match.
Tex: What the hell? We've seen Andy around here for a few weeks now Tex, but now we learn that he used to be in the GWA? Who the hell was he there? And, who has pissed him off?
Duff: I don't know Tex, but I can't wait to see what happens next with Andy Martindale, this is going to be great!
Vs.
We open Monday Night Insomnia with a Submission Match which pits Andy Martindale against Modo. Megadeth's SYMPHONE OF DESTRUCTION hits the speakers in the Wachovia Center and rocks the fans. Pyros erupt around the entrance area and smoke billows into the ceiling. We see Andy "Maverick" Martindale step out from the backstage area, through the smoke and pyros, and he walks out to the landing at the top of the entrance ramp and he stops to play the crowd. He looks to the left at the crowd and then he looks to the right at the crowd. After looking the crowd over Andy heads down the ramp to the ring. When he reaches the ring he slides under the bottom rope and into the ring. He quickly gets to his feet, climbs the nearest corner ropes, and plays the crowd to a mostly favorable reaction.
TEX: It was unfortunate for Andy Martindale last week that The Masked Terror touched that last turnbuckle padding before he did. However, Martindale is a trooper and he comes in tonight in this Submission Only Match against Modo.
Modo did very well last week against Hank Henry III and had it not been for interference on the part of Mike Anderson Modo would have, and should have, won that match AND the International Title Belt.
STORMY CANYON: Here is our first wrestler in this Submission Only Match, from Toronto, Ontario, Canada, weighing 224 pounds and standing 6 feet 4 inches call, please give an Asylum Wrestling Alliance Fan's welcome to ANDY "THE MAVERICK" MARTINDALE!!!
The crowd again goes into a mostly favorable reaction but their cheering is cut short as BYOB by System Of A Down hits the speakers in the Wachovia Center. Strobe lights flash around the arena and pyros erupt around the entrance area. There is a commotion in the cheap seats as we see Modo high up in the arena with the fans. He makes his way down the steps toward ringside. When he arrives at the barricade he leaps over it and then he climbs the ring steps and ducks through the ropes and into the ring. He backs into a corner and glares at Andy Martindale.
TEX: So here is what we have tonight. This is a Submission Only Match which means no pinfalls, no count outs, no Disqualifications, you can only win by making your opponent submit or tap out. Andy Martindale comes in with several maneuvers which could lead into a submission hold, however he doesn't appear to be a Submission specialist though.
DUFF: On the other hand Modo seems to have more moves that enable him to disable his opponent and then he can get him into a submission situation. On his Bio he lists himself as both Technical and Submission. Only time will tell what they are going to be able to accomplish.
STORMY CANYON: Here is out second wrestler in this Submission Only Match, from Toronto, Ontario, Canada, weighing 245 pounds, and standing 6 feet 6 inches, please give a hearty welcome for MODO!!!
The crowd gives a somewhat favorable reaction to Modo and then Tex and Duff add some commentary before the match begins.
TEX: Wow, I don't think I have ever seen such an evenly matched pair of wrestlers. Andy Martindale is 6 feet 4 inches and Modo is 6 feet 6 inches. Andy weighs 224 pounds and Modo weighs 245 pounds. And what a surprise that both are from Toronto, Ontario, Canada!
DUFF: I guess we have a Canuk match to start off this Insomnia eh?
Referee "Chocolate" Chip Long waddles to the middle of the ring and he calls Andy Martindale and Modo to him. He explains that this match is a Submission Only match which means pinfalls, count outs and Disqualifications don't count. The winner is the person who can make his opponent submit or tap out. He asks Modo and Martindale if they understand the rules of this match and both inform Referee Long that they understand. Chip Long directs both wrestlers to go to a corner and to come out fighting when he has the Timekeeper ring the bell. Both wrestlers go to a corner to await the start of this match.
TEX: Monday Night Insomnia is officially underway!
DUFF: Where is the Beer Guy? I am THIR.....STEEE!!!!
TEX: There's the Beer Guy now! Anyway, since neither Andy Martindale nor Modo are known for being a submission "expert," it will be interesting to see how well they do in applying submission holds on their opponent.
DUFF: There are so many submission holds available and I am sure both these wrestlers know what they are and how to apply them. Even if they don't use specific submission holds, there are still a lot of normal wrestling holds that, once you beat down your opponent enough, can be used to make your opponent submit.
Referee Chip Long stays close to the wrestlers as they approach each other. Modo and Andy lock up and jockey for position. Modo releases the hold, drops to the mat, and executes a leg sweep, taking out the legs of Martindale. Andy staggers but doesn't go down so Modo quickly gets to his feet and as Martindale staggers to regain his footing, Modo hits him with a clothesline, dropping Andy Martindale to the mat. Modo drags Martindale to his feet and he applies an Abdominal Stretch in an early attempt at a submission hold. He is pulling hard on Andy and Referee Long steps in to ask Martindale if he wants to submit. Andy isn't ready to submit this early in the match. He musters up enough energy to flip Modo off him and onto the mat, thereby breaking the Abdominal Stretch attempt.
DUFF: That was smart on the part of Modo to attempt the submission early in the match. When you are in a Submission Only match you have to take every chance you have. You just don't know when you will get the win.
TEX: You also have to give credit to Andy Martindale for getting out of the Abdominal Stretch.
Andy Martindale and Modo get to their feet and circle each other getting ready for the next round. The two lock up again and this time it is Andy Martindale who gets the advantage when he breaks the hold, kicks Modo in the midsection, and when Modo bends forward, Martindale grabs Modo and executes a DDT, slamming Modo hart into the mat. And then picks Modo up and drops him across his knee in a back breaker maneuver. He then applies downward pressure on Modo's chest and thighs causing heavy pressure on his back on his knee. Referee Chip Long steps in to ask Modo if he wants to submit and he says NO so the match continues. Modo manages to reach up and punch Andy Martindale in the face. This causes Martindale to release his hold on Modo thereby breaking the submission hold.
TEX: A very nice submission attempt on the part of Andy Martindale but I believe it is still too early in the match for a submission.
DUFF: Right now perhaps but if these two continue applying submission holds at this record pace we could have a quick winner.
Modo rolls out of the ring to take a break. Andy remains in the ring while Referee Chip Long begins a count on Modo even though if he doesn't get back into the ring in a ten count a count out doesn't count anyway. Since Martindale is holding back we see Modo quickly get back into the ring. The two approach each other and Modo grabs the arm of Andy Martindale and he whips him into the ropes. He catches Andy with a hip toss on the rebound and while Martindale is on the mat face down. Modo jumps on his back and he lifts the arms of Andy Martindale back behind him and they he reaches down and locks his hands under the chin of Andy and pulls back hard with a Chinlock for the submission. Chip Long steps in to ask Andy Martindale if he wants to submit but he mumbles that he is not going to submit. It doesn't look good for Andy Martindale as he appears to be stuck in this submission hold. He reaches out and desperately tries to reach the ropes for the break. He keeps inching forward until he is able to reach out and grab the bottom rope. Referee Chip Long is quick to step in and demand a break from Modo. Modo reluctantly releases the Chinlock and steps off the back of Andy Martindale.
TEX: Whew! Fortunate for Andy Martindale that he was able to reach the ropes and break that Chinlock.
DUFF: Yep. I thought Modo had him that time.
Andy stays holding the rope until Chip Long informs him to get back to the match. Martindale stands up and leans against the ropes. Modo charges Martindale to clothesline him but Andy ducks and Modo catches only air and hits the ropes. When Modo rebounds off the ropes Andy Martindale grabs him, picks him up, and body slams him hard to the mat. Andy drags Modo to his feet and whips him into the corner. When Modo comes out of the corner, Andy Martindale steps behind Modo and he applies a Full Nelson on him. He has Modo locked in the Full Nelson in the middle of the ring as Referee Chip Long steps up to ask Modo if he wants to submit. Modo doesn't respond to Chip Long but he continues to right off the Full Nelson submission attempt. Since Modo cannot get to the ropes he uses all his strength and brings his arms down hard, and in the process he breaks the Full Nelson that Andy Martindale had on him.
TEX: I thought that Full Nelson was going to do it for Andy Martindale but obviously I was wrong.
DUFF: Gee, Tex, if I had one Dollar for each time you said something that was wrong I would be a Millionaire.
TEX: Oh...that was so darn funny that I forgot to laugh!
Andy Martindale is upset the Full Nelson didn't get him the submission. He lunges at Modo but Modo side-steps him and hits him with a Swinging Neckbreaker. He then sits Andy Martindale on the mat and we watch as Modo grabs both of Martindale's trapezius muscles in his hands and he pinches hard. Martindale is screaming out in pain and he tightens up from the pain of the Double Trapezius Nerve Pinch. Referee Long steps in to ask Martindale if he wants to submit. He mutters that he doesn't want to give up. Modo can feel a victory so he pinches harder on the trapezius muscles of Andy Martindale but he cannot get Andy to submit. Martindale struggles to his knees and then to his feet while Modo tries to maintain the hold on the trapezius muscles of Martindale. Andy kicks back with his leg a few times and he manages to kick Modo in his legs several times which causes Modo to break the Double Trapezius Nerve Pinch hold. Andy Martindale drops to the mat while Modo backs into a corner and massages his legs.
TEX: That was another close one Duff. It was a last ditch effort on the part of Andy Martindale that got him out of that painful submission hold.
DUFF: That particular submission move loses some effectiveness once the victim gets to his feet.
The pain has subsided in the neck area for Andy Martindale and Modo has managed to massage his legs to get the pain from the kicks out of them. Once again Modo and Andy Martindale approach each other and they once again circle around waiting for an opening. The two lock up and Andy Martindale gets the advantage by wrapping his arms around Modo and executing a Gutwrench Suplex. While Modo is on the mat Andy Martindale places him into a sitting position. Andy then stands behind the sitting Modo and straddles his neck with his legs. Martindale reaches over and grabs both the legs of Modo and pulls them up hard, causing Modo's hamstrings to be pulled and also compressing Modo's neck, in this classic Stump Puller submission hold. Referee Chip Long steps in and asks Modo if he wants to submit and he says NO so the match must continue.
TEX: Oh my! I cannot believe that Andy Martindale just applied the Stump Puller! I haven't seen anyone use that move since Doink used it.
DUFF: I guess Andy Martindale just wanted to Clown around eh?
This really doesn't look good for Modo as he is twisted up like a pretzel. Chip Long again asks Modo if he wants to submit but he still refuses to give up in this match. While Andy Martindale continues to pull up on the legs of Modo, his grip slips for just a moment, which causes him to let go of one of the legs of Modo. With his leg free Modo is able to pull himself over to the rope and slide his leg under the bottom rope which causes Referee Chip Long to demand a break from Martindale. Andy reluctantly breaks the hold and backs off, waiting for Modo to get to his feet. Modo takes his time getting to his feet so he can recover from that Stump Puller maneuver. Modo finally gets to his feet by pulling himself up by the ropes. He limps into a corner and drops to his knees to ask for another break. Martindale is not buying the stalling tactic as he quickly heads into the corner to attack Modo. However, Modo was playing and as Andy Martindale approaches Modo lunges out and head butts Andy Martindale in the stomach. Martindale gasps for breath and stops in his tracks. Modo head butts Andy Martindale again and this time Andy is doubled over from the pain. Modo quickly climbs up to the top rope in the corner and he leaps off and lands a hard elbow across the back of the neck of the bent over Martindale. Andy drops face first to the mat and Modo quickly grabs Martindale's ankle and applies a Kurt Angle Ankle Lock and he locks it in and twists hard. Andy Martindale is obviously in extreme pain and he might suffer a broken ankle if he doesn't submit. Referee Chip Long steps in and asks Andy Martindale it he wishes to submit. Andy Martindale, although in horrible pain, still doesn't want to submit. Andy is trying to drag himself to the ropes to once again grab the ropes to break the hold. He is a few inches from reaching the ropes but Modo cranks and Ankle Lock and the pain causes Martindale to give up trying to reach the ropes. Realizing that he either submits, or suffers a broken ankle, Andy Martindale makes one last desperate attempt to grab the ropes. He pulls himself with his arms as hard as he can and he finally manages to reach out and grab onto the bottom rope. Referee Long quickly demands Modo break the Ankle Lock and he does and he backs off.
TEX: That was another WHEW moment for Andy Martindale. Very few people have been able to get out of the Ankle Lock without submitting or suffering a broken ankle.
DUFF: I agree with you Tex. That is a rather brutal submission hold but Andy Martindale manages to break the hold just before he suffered serious injury.
Andy Martindale pulls himself out of the ring and he flops on the arena floor. He cannot stand up yet because his ankle is hurting, so he massages his ankle to get feeling in it and massage the pain out. Referee Long counts on Andy Martindale outside the ring even though he cannot Disqualify him in the process. After a short time Andy Martindale manages to lightly walk over to the ring steps and he climbs up and ducks into the ring. Modo quickly runs across the ring to give a shoulder block to Andy in the corner. Martindale saw him coming and as he dives out of the corner, Modo misses the shoulder block and slams into the turnbuckles instead. As Modo turns around he is hit with a few elbow smashes and then Andy Martindale hits Modo with a German Suplex. With Modo on the mat Andy rolls him on his stomach and then he positions himself off to the side of Modo. He then reaches around Modo's head, pulling his arm across his face. Andy then locks his hands together in the face of Modo and pulls back, apply pressure with a Crossface. As Andy Martindale is pulling hard on the face of Modo, Referee Long steps in to ask for the submission. There is no submission from Modo so Chip Long backs off. The two wrestlers are close enough to the ropes that Modo is able to reach out with his free arm and grab the rope to break the hold. Once again Andy Martindale reluctantly releases the hold on Modo. As he steps back Modo lashes out with an attempted kick.
TEX: These two have been showing some great submission holds in this match. I have to make the assumption that since both of these guys are not specialists in submission holds, they are not quite as effective as a submission expert would be in a similar match.
DUFF: Even so, this has been a very exciting match. It is truly a pleasure to be able to watch two wrestlers use Technical wrestling maneuvers and holds for a change.
Andy Martindale stands back to give Modo a chance to get to his feet. Modo slowly gets to his feet and he is shaking his head and massaging his neck to get the motion back into it. Martindale keeps a close watch on Modo and when he sees Modo stand fully to his feet and turn in his direction Andy takes a leap toward Modo with the purpose of landing a drop kick. Modo side steps the drop kick and as he does he reaches out an grabs the ankles of Andy Martindale and twists his legs to that Martindale falls on the mat. As soon as Andy gets to his feet Modo whips him hard into the corner and he quickly follows him into the corner with an elbow to the throat. Modo then steps out of the corner and reaches back to land a few karate chops to the chest and throat of Andy Martindale. Modo grabs Martindale by the arm and he pulls him out to the center of the ring. Modo then whips Andy Martindale into the ropes and catches him in a Sleeper Hold on the rebound. Modo has Andy in the middle of the ring in the Sleeper Hold and Referee Chip Long steps in to ask Martindale if he wants to submit and he does not so Chip Long allows the match to continue. Modo has the Sleeper Hold secure and he is choking off the oxygen to Andy's brain. It appears that Martindale is fading quickly and is nearly out. Referee Chip Long steps in and raises the arm of Andy Martindale and he lets it drop. Referee Long holds up one finger to indicate that Martindale's hand dropped once.
DUFF: If Referee Chip Long raises the arm of Andy Martindale three times and it drops three times he will have to declare Modo the winner as he will have Andy Martindale knocked out.
TEX: It honestly doesn't look good for Andy Martindale right now since he is locked in the Sleeper Hold in the middle of the ring.
Referee Chip Long raises the arm of Andy Martindale for a second time and lets it drop. He then holds up two fingers to indicate that Martindale's arm fell twice already. Referee Chip Long steps up and raises the arm of Andy Martindale for the third time. When he lets Andy Martindale's arm go and if it drops, Modo will be declared the winner. As Chip Long releases the arm of Andy Martindale, we watch as Andy's arm stays up in the air and he points a finger in the air to let the fans know that he is not about to submit or pass out. The fangs get behind Andy Martindale and they start to chant for him.
CROWD: MARTINDALE!!! MARTINDALE!!! MARTINDALE!!!
Andy Martindale gets his adrenaline going as the crowd chants his name. He uses all his remaining energy to bring his arms down hard to try to break the Sleeper Hold that Modo has on him. This isn't working well after a few attempts so the next thing we see Andy Martindale do is kick his feet out, causing him to drop to the mat, with Modo dropping on top of him and as the two hit the mat, Modo's chin slams hard on the top of the head of Andy Martindale. The pain of slamming his jaw on the head of Andy Martindale causes Modo to release the Sleeper Hold. Modo falls on his back to the mat and he is holding his jaw from the pain. Andy Martindale is groggy but he has enough wits about him to roll across the ring and into a corner to get a breather.
TEX: Wow! I honestly cannot believe that Andy Martindale was able to get out of that Sleeper Hold as Modo had it locked in hard.
DUFF: All I can say is that I am totally surprised at how well these two wrestlers are doing in this Submission Only match. I have to admit this is one of the most exciting matches in Asylum Wrestling Alliance for the Year 2010.
Andy Martindale is sitting in the corner regaining his wits while Modo is massaging his jaw to erase the pain. Modo is the first to get up and when he sees Andy Martindale sitting in the corner he sees his opportunity to finish Andy off. Modo walks into the corner where Andy Martindale is located and he grabs him by the arm and pulls to drag him to his feet. Martindale is resisting getting to his feet and Modo is getting upset that he is not able to pull him to his feet. Finally he pulls Andy Martindale to his feet but when he tries to whip him out of the corner, Andy Martindale grabs onto the ring ropes and prevents the attempt. Modo pulls hard again but Martindale isn't moving. Modo releases the hold on Andy Martindale's arm and when he steps back Andy Martindale leaps into the air and lands a kick on the side of the head of Modo which staggers Modo for a moment. Modo shakes off the kick and he goes back into the corner after Andy Martindale. When Modo approaches Andy Martindale we see Andy leap backward and up on the second rope and then dive off the rope and over the head of Modo, catching him around the waist on the way down. He flips Modo over and onto his back. Martindale is quick to get to his feet and when Modo gets up and turns to him with a Spine Buster. Andy then rolls Modo onto his stomach and then he drops a few elbows into the lower back of Modo. Modo is in pain from the numerous elbow drops to his back. We watch as Andy Martindale leaps on the back of Modo. He reaches out and grabs the arms of Modo while jamming his foot into the shoulder blades of Modo. He then pulls back hard on the arms of Modo in a Surfboard submission hold. Modo is totally unable to move to get to the ropes to break the hold. Referee Chip Long steps up to ask him he wants to submit. Modo refuses to submit but the pain from the Surfboard is getting to him. Referee Chip Long continues to step up and ask if Modo wants to submit but he refuses to submit every time. Andy Martindale keeps pulling on the arms of Modo while holding his foot into the shoulder blades of Modo.
TEX: It looks as if this is the end of Modo. I cannot see a way he can get out of the Surfboard submission hold.
DUFF: There is always a way to get out of ever hold or maneuver, but it will depend upon whether Modo can figure out a way to do it.
Much to our surprise we watch as Andy Martindale releases the Surfboard on Modo. Just when we are wondering why he would do that, we watch Andy Martindale turn Modo over on his back and then grab both legs of Modo and turn him over into a Boston Crab submission hold. He leans back hard and Referee Long steps up to ask Modo if he wants to submit but he does not. However, because Andy Martindale changed the submission hold on Modo, from a Surfboard to a Boston Crab, it allowed the arms of Modo to be free. Using his arms Modo is able to drag himself close enough to the ropes to grab onto to lower rope which causes Referee Chip Long to step in and call for a break. Andy Martindale realizes the mistake he made and he reluctantly releases the Boston Crab on Modo and he steps back to wait for Modo to get to his feet.
TEX: Ooooo, a critical mistake on the part of Andy Martindale there. Had he kept the Surfboard applied then Modo's hands would still be tied up and he would not have been able to get to the ropes to break the hold.
DUFF: Well now the only thing remaining to see is whether the mistake Andy Martindale made will cost him the match or not.
Andy Martindale waits for Modo to get to his feet. As soon as Modo is up on his feet Andy charges him with an attempted Clothesline. He catches Modo with the Clothesline and Modo falls to the mat. Andy Martindale then grabs the arm of Modo and drags him to his feet. When he has Modo to his feet he whips Modo into the ropes and on the rebound we see Andy Martindale slide to the mat and hit a leg sweep on the back of the legs of Modo. This cuts the legs out from under Modo and he falls face-first to the mat. Martindale walks over and stomps on the legs of Modo while Referee Chip Long reprimands him for the stomps. Andy Martindale stands up and leaps into the air and drops his knees to the back of the legs of Modo. Modo yelps out in pain as Martindale does the knee drops to the back of the legs of Modo several times. Andy Martindale flips Modo onto his back, grabs one of his legs, steps into his legs, folds his leg over, and then he locks Modo up in a Figure Four Leglock. The two wrestlers are in the middle of the ring and Andy Martindale has the Figure Four locked in tight. Modo desperately tries to get out of the hold, by either reversing it or getting to the ropes, but he is unable to do either one. Referee Chip Long steps up to ask Modo if he wants to submit. He initially refuses to submit until Martindale cinches up on the Figure Four Leglock and then we hear Modo submit. Referee Chip Long quickly calls for the bell to end the match and then he quickly demands that Andy Martindale release Modo. Martindale releases the Figure Four Leglock and he lets Modo go. We can tell that Modo is in a lot of pain as he thrashes around on the mat holding his legs.
TEX: Oh wow! Andy Martindale really surprised me with those final quick maneuvers which led to that Figure Four Leglock for the submission.
DUFF: There is nothing I can say except congrats to Andy Martindale for hanging on in this match as long as he did. There were several times during this match when I was sure Modo had him for the submission.
STORMY CANYON: Here is the winner of this match, by submission, using the Figure Four Leglock, please give appreciation for ANDY "THE MAVERICK" MARTINDALEEEEE!!!!!
The crowd gives a favorable reaction to Andy Martindale as he plays the crowd and then he slides out of the ring and runs up the ramp and returns to the backstage area. Referee Chip Long checks on the condition of Modo who finally got to his feet on his own. He waves off the Referee and exits the ring on his own and he returns up the ramp to the backstage area.

We see Bill Barnhart walking down the hallway in the backstage area and he is dressed and ready to go for his match. He is walking toward the entrance area for his entrance. The cameraman is close to Bill as he quickly makes his way down the hallway. Suddenly Bill stops and turns to the camera. The image is being broadcast on the TRON for everyone in the Arena to see.
BULLDOG BILL: In a very short time I am entering the wrestling ring with my Tag Team partner Jonathan "FANG" Porter and we will take on Mike Anderson and Mister X. Heh heh! I cannot wait to destroy Mikey and X. Remember the saying that "X MARKS THE SPOT"? Yeah, I got my sights set on Mister X and after I knock him out I am going to try to get that mask off him so everyone can see who he is. And what about Mike Anderson? I will let Fang take care of him!
Bill turns and continues walking toward the entrance area as the cameraman follows close behind him.
Vs.
Stormy Canyon: The following contest is scheduled for one fall and it is contested under tag team rules!!! The first team to enter the ring is the team of Mr. X and Mike Anderson!!!!!
Mr. X’s music hits as the first ever Television Champion walks out to the ring, he is halfway the entrance way as Mike Anderson’s music hits and Mr. X’s tag team partner walks out to the ring. The fans are cheering the two men on as they stand in the middle of the ring, awaiting the arrival of Bill Barnhart and Fang.
Stormy Canyon: The following team to enter the arena!! Representing the Family!!! They are the team of Bill Barnhart and Fang!!!!
The Godfather tune by Guns ‘n Roses hits as the number one contender of the Universal Championship and Bill Barnhart walk out to the arena unified. The fans boo both men as they step their foots in the arena and walk towards the ring and slide underneath the bottom rope as they raise their hands in unison.
Tex Martin: Two veterans against two young talents!! This is going to be a good match!!
Duff Travers: I just hope that these two punks can somehow work their asses off in the power battle that these two can deliver to the dance.
The bell has rang as Fang watches on as Bill Barnhart starts off against Mr. X. The two men circle each other as Bill locks arms with Mr. X, but the former TV champion executes a hip toss and puts Bill in a collar elbow tie up and grounds the member of the Family as Bill Barnhart slowly gets to his feet. There he pushes Mr. X in the ropes and executes an Irish Whip and then delivers a knee in the midsection of Mr. X. Bill tags in Fang as he then grabs the arm of Mr. X and pulls him towards his corner, where Fang has climbed the middle turnbuckle and executes an double axhandle of the second turnbuckle on the shoulder area of Mr. X. There we see Fang grabbing Mr. X by the head and wants to end it quickly with a Fatal Shot. But Mr. X. blocks it by pushing Fang in the ropes and then dropping him in the middle of the ring with a standing dropkick.
Tex Martin: Nice Move!!!!
Mr. X tags in his tag team partner as we see Mike Anderson for the first time today, where he runs towards Fang and grabs him by the head as he starts to pound away on the back of the former International Champion. Fang reverses an Irish Whip and delivers a Spine Buster to the rookie as he goes for the cover right away and the referee goes for the three count. But it is Mike Anderson that kicks out at the final moment as Fang looks up at the referee for a slow count.
Duff Travers: Tell him like it is Fang!!!
Fang grabs Mike Anderson by the head and lifts him up before pulling him to his corner and tags in Bill Barnhart while holding the arm of Anderson high in the air for Bill Barnhart to kick in the midsection of Anderson. Bill executes a kick in the ribs and takes over where Fang has left off. Bill grabs the head of Anderson and lifts him up for a Suplex and drops him into a pinning combination. But Anderson kicks out at the final moment. Bill then grabs Anderson by the head and delivers several elbows to the back of his neck before delivering a big time DDT in the middle of the ring and goes for the cover. We can see Mr. X come out to the rescue of his tag team partner as he kicks Bill Barnhart in the back as that breaks the three count.
Tex Martin: So far the tag team wrestling of Fang and Bill is the key to their momentum over these two young men that are singles wrestlers.
Mr. X. climbs out of the ring where suddenly out of sight of the referee he gets assaulted by the current TV champion the Masked Terror. Who grabs him by the ankles and that causes him to fall face first on the ring apron and staggering backwards as The Masked Terror follows it up with a big time clothesline on the former champion as the referee is being distracted by Bill Barnhart and Fang.
Duff Travers: Yeah!! Take that you masked freak!!!
Tex Martin: They are both masked Duff…
Duff Travers: I know, but X is a freak!!!
Tex Martin: Oh brother…
Masked Terror then quickly hops over the guard rail and disappears through the crowd as the referee turns around and does not see Mr. X on the apron. He turns around to see Fang being tagged in by Bill Barnhart and Fang grabs Mike Anderson by the head as he delivers a picture perfect Body Slam before tagging back in Bill Barnhart. He tells Bill to get on the turnbuckles whereas he places Mike Anderson across the knee and Bill jumps off with a Leg Drop across the chest and throat area of Mike Anderson and then goes for the pin as the referee counts to three.
Stormy Canyon: The winners of this match!!! The Family!!!! Fang and Bill Barnhart!!!
We can slowly see Mr. X get to his feet and stare at the spot where his attacker came from as he is enraged by what has happened to him.
Winner:
Masked Terror: “All damned week long I’ve been bantering words back and forth with this Joker, Kris Peek. Hell, we’ve all heard him proclaim, at least one hundred times now, that he’s going to be walking out of our match as the New TV Champion. Well, just as sure as I’m sitting here, right now, we all know that for the pure and total bullshit that it is. For those of you at home who are unsure, just let me make things perfectly clear for you right now. I am the AWA Television Champion and when this night is over, I will STILL be the AWA Television Champion because there ain’t no one, especially not this Kris Peek kid, who has what it takes to take this title from me.
”
::For the first time, the Masked Terror looks up and actually addresses the camera, the angry tone in his voice growing by decibels. ::
Masked Terror: “ ”
::Having said his piece, he stands up and walks out of the locker room. Hungry, focused...ready to defend his championship.::<
Vs.
Masked Terror is in the dressing room. Next to him is a referee and they are waiting for the arrival of Kris Peek. Suddenly from behind Peek bashes Terror in the back of the head with a forearm. The match has begun as the referee stands back. Peek grabs Terror by the mask and hurls him face first into one of the lockers. Peek jumps on not letting Terror catch his breath and starts with hard closed fist punches to the crown of the skull.
Tex: This match is not going to be a pretty one. No introductions, no pinfalls, no submission, just a brawl for the gold.
Duff: Only way to win is to knock your opponent unconscious. And Kris Peek looks like he is hungry for that title.
Peek gets off Terror and walks around the dressing room. He is looking for some kind of weapon and grabs a folding chair by one of the lockers. He readies himself like a batter waiting for the perfect pitch as Terror makes his way slowly up to one knee and then to his feet. He turns around, Peek swings hard, but Terror ducks. Peek turns around for another swing, but Terror punches the steel chair back into the face of Peek knocking Peek into one of the open lockers. Terror looks around for his own weapon of destruction. He spots one of the monitors and lifts it up. Terror hurls the monitor at Peek who barely moves out of the way and the monitor hits the locker shattering.
Tex: Both of these men are going to pull out all the stops for the Television Title.
Duff: This match has only begun and I can’t imagine how vicious it is going to get.
Peek sprints at Terror, but Terror is able to catch him and slam him with a hard spinebuster on the concrete floor. Peek’s skull bounces off the concrete, the referee checks but he is still conscious and the match continues. Terror grabs an athletic bag and begins to look through it, he finds a roll of athletic tape. Terror looks at it for a minute and then nods. Terror brings Peek to a sitting position and stands behind him. Terror then takes the athletic tape and wraps it around Peek’s throat several times and begins to choke Peek. Kris begins to flail and try to stop the choking. The referee can only stand and watch as Kris tries to keep himself conscious. He masks it to his feet, turning bright red as Terror pulls the tape tighter around Peek’s throat. Out of desperation Kris falls backwards and slams Terror into the wall. It lessens Terror’s hold but not completely. Peek slams him again and this time Terror lets go of the tape. On pure instinct Kris takes a step forward and then delivers a huge Pele kick to the Terror. Both men crumble to the ground.
Duff: What a stupid move. Why would you flip yourself upside down on a concrete floor?
Tex: It was a desperation move, and it worked because now Kris Peek can breath and has a chance to recuperate.
Duff: If he didn’t break his neck from that move.
Both men are rolling on the ground. The referee checks them, but they are both still conscious and the match continues. Peek quickly unwraps the tape from his throat. He rolls over to one knee and sees Terror is still out of it. He stumbles towards Terror and tries to wrap the tape around his throat. Peek begins to pull back giving Terror a taste of his own medicine. Terror tries to overpower Peek and gets up to his feet, with Kris on his back. Peek tries to pull the tape tighter, but Terror jumps back landing with all of his weight on top of Kris, whose skull bounces off the cold floor. Terror slowly starts to rise and shake the cobwebs loose. He looks over and there is a small glass end table in the corner. Terror makes his way over, holding the back of his head and drags the table to wear Kris is.
Tex: I don’t like what is going on in Masked Terror’s head right now. This can’t be good.
Duff: What are you talking about? It’s about to get even bloodier, this is going to be great.
Terror grabs the groggy Peek and places him between his legs. It looks like it’s going to be a powerbomb, but Kris drops to one knee to block it. Terror delivers three hard forearms to his lower back and pulls Kris back to his feet and tries for a powerbomb again, but this time Peek grabs Terror’s knees to block it. Terror goes for more forearm shots, but Peek drops to one knee and delivers a hard low blow that stuns Terror. Peek grabs the back of Terror’s head and delivers a hard reverse DDT. Peek looks like he’s gotten a second wind and jumps to his feet. He looks around the dressing room and grabs a trash can. Terror is still rolling around on the ground holding the back of his head and Kris comes down slamming the trash can hard onto Terror’s body. Again and again and again, until the trash can is almost flat. Kris then lays the trash can on top of Terror, he moves some of the debris out of the way and backs up. He then sprints and delivers a huge rolling senton onto the trash can slamming it into the chest and gut of Terror. The move also seems to have hurt Kris’ back.
Duff: Another stupid move that hurt Kris Peek as much as it hurt Masked Terror.
Tex: In the condition these two men are in, anything is going to hurt them. But I think Peek is getting ready to try and end this. And it couldn’t be a moment too soon. A few more minutes of this and someone’s career may be over.
Duff: Looks like you talked too soon Tex, my boy.
Duff is referring to Kris who has now risen to his feet again and dragged Masked Terror over to the glass table. It looks like he has Terror set up for the Blitzkrieg Bop. The referee looks very concerned at the situation as it unfolds, but there is nothing he can do about it. Kris shakes his head trying to regain focus as he has Terror ready for a suplex. He goes to lift, but Terror blocks it by grabbing the top of Kris’ pants. Kris delivers to hard shots to Terror’s gut with the middle of his knee. He goes for the vertical suplex again, but Terror uses his power to block it. Terror tries to deliver a few rights to Peek’s skull, but they are weak. Kris breaks the suplex to try for a hard haymaker, but Terror ducks and kicks him in the gut. Terror delivers a quick spinning neck breaker that sends them both to the ground again. Both men are obviously spent as they each try to will themselves to their feet. Slowly each man makes it up to one knee then back to their feet. The meet in the center of the dressing room and begin to exchange rights and lefts. Both men trying to give every shot all they have, but their strength is sapped and no blow seems to make much of a difference. Peek begins to get a couple in that wobble Terror. Terror begins to back step and Peek goes for one final huge haymaker, but Terror ducks it. Terror takes quick advantage of a disoriented Peek and delivers an Ego Trip.
Tex: That should be it right there. Masked Terror calls that the Ego Trip and I think it may have done Kris Peek in.
Duff: I wouldn’t count anyone out just yet. It looks like Kris is still moving around, it hurt him, but he’s not unconscious.
Peek is indeed still conscious, even if he may wish he weren’t the referee sees this and the match continues. Terror brings Peek to his feet and it looks like he is going to go for the Terror Death Claw. Terror stalks around the dressing room for a moment gaining his strength. He raises his hand and plunges it towards Peek’s skull. But in a small moment of clarity, Kris grabs Terror’s wrist with both hands. They begin a battle of strength, Kris desperately holding off Terror from grasping his skull. Both men trying to muster all their strength. Kris is able to get a hard kick to the gut that stops Terror. Kris looks like he is going to go for a running clothesline, but as he runs in Terror holds out his hand and hooks in the Terror Death Claw. Peek begins to flail and try to fight it off. He grabs Terror’s wrist and tries to torque the hold, but to no avail. Kris drops to one knee, but continues to fight. Slowly Peek’s strength begins to drain and his fighting becomes less and less frantic. Terror looks like he is really sinking in his grasp as Peek falls to the ground. The referee checks Peeks, raising his arm once…it falls like a sack of bricks. Twice….again falls with no effort. The third time….it again plummets to the concrete floor. Kris Peeks is unconscious and the referee calls for the match to be over.
Tex: Oh my god, that Terror Death Claw sealed the deal. What a hard fought match by both men. I don’t think anyone expect this kind of carnage.
Duff: I did, I knew it all along. But I’m still not happy with this masked freak running around with one of our titles.
The referee raises Terror’s hand and gives him back his Television title. Before Terror can savor the win however, out of nowhere comes Mr. X. He nails an already weakened Masked Terror from behind. The referee tries to stop the attack, but to no avail. Mr. X is determined to inflict injury as he takes Masked Terror and spears him skull first into the concrete wall. Without missing a beat he drags Terror to the glass table, Masked Terror is close to being out on his feet as Mr. X brings him to his feet, supporting most of the weight himself. He says something to Terror and then delivers a Crash & Burn sending Masked Terror crashing through the glass table as shards of glass fly everywhere. More officials come in to break up the attack. Several pull Mr. X out of the dressing room as the rest check on the now unconscious Kris Peek and Masked Terror.
Tex: Are you kidding me? What has gotten into Mr. X?
Duff: He is making sure Masked Terror doesn’t forget he has a rematch for that title coming.
Winner:
As the show goes on “Room For One More” by Anthrax begins to play signalling the arrival of Jason "The Sensation" Stevens, he steps out and walks towards the ring with a microphone in hand.
TM: Apparently Jason "The Sensation" Stevens has something to say regarding last week’s announcement.
DM: Also apparently Marty has been hiring the best lawyers in the country because he can’t find anyone to face Jason "The Sensation" Stevens at Wrestlequest.
The music dies down as Jason raises the mic to his lips.
JS: For those of you with short term memory loss, ADHD or have been living under a rock for the past two weeks last week I revealed to the world that Marty McFarge is nothing more than a murderer even if he didn’t mean to kill his victim, I told him to find an opponent for me at Wrestlequest but he can’t so Marty, come out here and explain yourself.
Marty is dragged out by Steve Ramone.
MM: Jason "The Sensation" Stevens, you have got to listen to me man do you have any idea how hard it’s been for me to find an opponent for you man?! Apparently no one on this damn roster wants to associate themselves with someone facing a Murder Charge!
JS: Well I guess you’ll be going to prison, has the bar of soap arrived yet?
Marty starts yelling obscenities at Jason "The Sensation" Stevens.
JS: Of course you could always face me yourself!
Marty’s eyes go wide.
MM: THAT’S NOT FAIR! I'M NOT A WRESTLER!
JS: You think it was fair for you to take that man’s life?
Jason "The Sensation" Stevens sighs.
JS: BUT, knowing Goth he wouldn’t let you get in harm’s way so here’s the deal, you have until the week before Wrestlequest to find me an opponent otherwise you’re facing me!
”Room For One More” begins to play as Jason "The Sensation" Stevens leaves
The scene switches to the back where we see Big Bad Casey. He is seen warming up for his standard match against Jason Stevens. He sees the camera and gives a sinister looking smirk.
Casey: Jason Stevens, you don't know what you're in for! I am bigger and stronger than you are, which is why your going down. This match is going to be one for you to remember. I want you to remember the beating you all will take tonight. It will be my honor and my pleasure to destroy you and throw you like a javelin once again..
Casey then decides to take a drink of water. After a moment, when he has quenched his thirst, he continues.
Casey: After I defeat the loser known as Jason Stevens, I will be searching for the one who has been attacking me the last few weeks to get some revenge against that person. All I have to say is that whoever has been attacking me better watch his (or her, whichever the case may be) back.
Then the scene goes into airing the promos Big Bad Casey has done for the match in order. Then once the 3rd promo has finished, the scene changes as he walks out of the gym and towards the ring.
Vs.
Tex: Jason Stevens and Casey have another opportunity to settle a score with each other in another match held here in Philadelphia!
Duff: Whoever wins has to be stuck with the winner of the other tag-team match that’s coming up soon here. Now me, Tex? I hope that Jason Stevens comes out with the win!
Tex: Oh please! You need to give Casey a chance too, you know?
Duff: Why should I? Jason Stevens rocks the house down! Plain and simple!
Stormy: Ladies and gentlemen, this match is scheduled for one fall! The winner of this tag-team match must form a tag-team with the winner of another tag-team match scheduled to take place later tonight! Introducing first, from Las Vegas, Nevada, weighing at 175 lbs…..JASON STEVENS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The opening riff for "Room For One More" is herd over the PA, as soon as the baseline kicks in Jason emerges from the back with his mentor Steve Ramone following him close behind alongside Carrie, the crowd are mixed in there reaction to the trio as whilst they hate Jason they love Steve, Jason rolls into the ring and bounces of the ropes as Steve and Carrie take up positions at ringside.
Stormy: Introducing his opponent, from Nashua, New Hampshire, weighing at 375 lbs….BIG BAD CASEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
As he walks to the ring, he goes through the different karate stances.
Duff: Ha ha ha! I love this – Jason is clearly disgusted with the way Casey is doing as he is walking down to the ring – he is shaking his head back and forth, then laughs at him. Isn’t that great?.
Tex: Well, Duff, for now it may be great to Jason, but it won’t be a laughing matter anymore, now that Casey steps into the ring.
Jason stopped laughing as the giant entered the ring and stood in front of him with a venomous look on his face. Once the bell rang, Jason immediately goes to punch him in the stomach. This time, it’s Big Bad Casey that’s laughing his ass off as the damage isn’t painful at all. Jason steps back a few inches and catches Casey off guard with a jumping, spinning wheel kick to the face. That forces Casey to stop laughing as the pain registered. Suddenly, Casey felt a little blood coming out of his lip and he wiped it off him and looked at it. Then he got angry and, with a loud roar, he slaps Jason’s chest so hard that it felt like Jason kissed a freight train. Jason quickly goes down, clutching his chest and crying out in agony. Jason is near the ropes and Casey plants his foot down Jason’s throat and uses the ropes to push himself down on it as the referee counts to five. Once the count of five has been reached, Casey lets go and Jason struggles for air. Casey doesn’t give him any rest, however, and easily lifts him in the air and chokeslams him in the middle of the ring. Casey goes for the pin, but Jason gets the shoulder up at the count of two. Casey lifts the smaller man back to his feet and throws him to the ropes, but Jason now finally retaliates with a low dropkick, sending the big man down to one knee. Then Jason continues his assault as he grabs Casey’s head with both hands at each side and drives his left knee into his face, slowly sending the big man down to the mat. Jason then quickly ascends the upper-left post and leaps into the air and smashing into Casey’s chest with a perfectly-executed moonsault. Jason now goes for a pin of his own, but Casey roughly shoves him away at the count of two. As Casey slowly rises up to his feet, Jason quickly gets up and rushes over to his enemy, trying to keep the giant down with some nasty kicks to the legs of his adversary. Casey, however, pushes him away and Jason rolls backward to his feet. Then Jason comes back and goes for another knee into Casey’s face, but Casey blocks it. Before Jason could move back, Casey quickly grabs Jason by the head and smashes his face into his opponent, a headbutt that leaves Jason staggering around the ring in a daze. He does not see the clothesline that nearly took his head off. The giant isn’t done, as he stomps a vicious mudhole into Jason Stevens. Then he picks up the man and throws him into the lower-left corner of the ring before stepping back and charging at him, intending to crush Stevens with his fully body weight through a body splash. But Jason somehow manages to recover in time and leaps in the air, kicking Casey in the face. The big man turns around, clutching his face and trying to recover as Jason climbs the top post. As soon as Casey turns around, Jason flies in the air and lands a solid dropkick into his chest. That move did enough damage to the point of where Casey went down on one knee once more. Then, out of nowhere, Jason Stevens lands a shattering Enziguri that knocks the big man out cold!
Tex: Jason Stevens better take advantage of the situation before Casey wakes up from his temporary slumber!
Duff: Yes he does! He makes a movie and a good one at that, Tex! But will it be enough to put him down?
The question is answered, seconds later, as Jason Stevens quickly goes for the pin. But at the count of two, Casey barely got the shoulder up. Jason is shaking his head back and forth, unable to believe that the giant could come back from a move like that. Feeling insulted, he quickly stands up and gives Casey a vicious mudhole of his own. But Casey is a huge man and even though it delayed him a little bit, he managed to come back up. Jason steps back a bit, fear quickly showing in his eyes, but he shakes it off as he hits the ropes and goes for a springboard moonsault. But Casey managed to go forward and catch him in time. The fans go nuts as Big Bad Casey slams Jason Stevens to the mat with a tremendous powerslam! Casey then quickly drops a few elbows into the chest of Jason Stevens, then stands back, runs to the ropes, bounces back, and hits a legdrop right into Jason’s threat, once again cutting off his air supply for the moment. But even as Casey hooks the leg of his opponent, as the referee slapped the mat twice and was about to lay his hand down for the third time, Jason Stevens BARELY got the shoulder up. Casey is frustrated at this failed attempt, but sets it aside as he goes to pick up Jason. But Jason surprises him as he breaks off the hold and kicks him with a few sidekicks to both the stomach and the head, stunning the big man. But as Jason goes to finish him off with another jumping, spinning wheel kick, Casey is fast enough to sidestep the move and manages to push Jason away from him in mid-air. Jason, however, does a backwards flip and lands on his feet, trying not to slide all the way to the ropes. He stops himself and then rushes towards Casey, who goes for an upset punch, but Jason dodges it and hits the other side. Jason Stevens then tries to go for a leg chop from behind, but Casey surprises the audience as he senses his opponent approaching from behind and leapfrogs over Jason. Jason is quick to stop him, his jaw dropping to the floor, unable to figure out how the hell he could pull that off. But then he turns around and goes for a spinning heel kick to the face. Casey, however, blocks the attempt and goes for a wild, yet spinning haymaker. Jason, however, saw the oncoming move and quickly crouches from it. Then Jason stands up, kicks Casey in the gut, then goes for what seems like a diamond cutter. But Casey roughly pushes him away and Jason manages to keep his balance. But he wasn’t able to counter anything back as soon as he turned around, as Big Bad Casey finally nailed him with the Power-Up! Casey feels that victory is finally within his grasp as he goes for the pin and hooks the leg. The referee quickly has no choice but to count in the pin, so he rushes over and the crowd joins in. He slapped the mat a first time, then he slapped the mat again for a second time. Just as he was about to slap the mat for the third time, a crazed fan hops the barricade and slides into the ring, interrupting the pinfall.
Tex: What in the world?
Duff: That’s John Irons! What the hell is he doing?!
The crazed fan, now identified as John Irons can be seen kicking and stomping at Big Bad Casey. The referee is about to call for the bell, when Irons turns around and hits Referee “Simple” Simon Jones square in the face, knocking him out cold. Irons continues on his assault back to Big Bad Casey, who is upset that his win was interrupted by the crazed giant man. Casey manages to get up and hits Big John with a low blow, but he doesn’t seem to phased by it. Irons’ eyes go wide and big as he yells out in a furious rage, and lifts the slightly shorter man up by the throat, and heaves him over the top rope, and onto the metal steps!
Duff: Mary, Jesus and Joseph! He just tossed Big Bad Casey out of the ring like a shot put!
Tex: Why he would do something like this is beyond me! Now look at him, THAT isn’t the John Irons we knew! Oh COME ON! What did Jason Stevens do to deserve that!?
Big John turns his attention to the stirring Jason Stevens. He lifts his mighty leg up and stomps down on the family jewels of Jason Stevens, before laughing and giggling. He then grabs the small in pained grappler by his feet and begins to swing him around and around in circles in the ring. He picks up motion faster and faster before letting go and Jason Stevens is flying through the air, and lands on the Spanish Announcer’s table, breaking it to pieces.
Duff: I guess Stevens can now say that he’s learned to fly!
Tex: That was low, even for you Duff.
Big John rolls out of the ring and heads straight for Big Bad Casey, who has been busted wide open, blood profusely flowing from his forehead. Big John is seen still giggling like a mad man as he hefts the other giant up and rolls him into the ring. Big Bad Casey is out, but John isn’t quite finished just yet. He dashes over to the Spanish Announcer’s table and grabs the knocked out Stevens and drags him up into the ring like a rag doll. Along his way he picks up a microphone as we can hear his demented giggling across the Wachovia Arena.
Irons: heh heh heh heh! You finally got what was coming to you, John Henry Irons! You can run, run, run as fast as you can, but Big Bad John always gets his man! Heh he heh he he! You didn’t see it coming did you John Henry Irons? They never do, and it’s such fun!
Duff: Who the **** is this guy?
Tex: What in the Blue Hell is he talking about?
Duff: He’s either talking to himself, or he thinks Casey is himself…err….John Irons.
Tex: What the hell did Fang and his Men in Black do to him in Aruba?
Duff: I don’t know, but I sure as hell don’t like it.
Tex: For once Duff, I agree with you on that one.
Big John can be seen yelling and giggling into the microphone into the unconscious Casey, obviously speaking to him.
Irons: You’re not so tough are you, John Henry Irons? You think you can run this place into the ground without anyone having to say anything about it? Well I’m Big. And…..heh..hah..heh….heh…I’m BAAAD. I’m BIG BAD JOHN, BITCH! John Henry Irons you know what it’s like to be on top of the world? You think you’re so smart and safe in your ivory tower, smoking your Cuban Cigars and acting like you’re some kind of God? Well Big Bad John has a newsflash for ya! I just kicked your ass! If you weren’t so stupid John Henry Irons, then why are you bleeding? Why are you laying there, John Henry Irons like some dumb moron waiting for the Apocalypse to happen? The Four Horsemen aren’t coming for your soul, BIG BAD JOHN is! He heh heh he he heh! You and me are gonna have a war John Henry Irons! We’re gonna be like two super novas colliding into a big bang dude! It’s gonna be spectacular! It’s gonna be Wonderful….wonderful…so wonderful hehe hehe hehe to see your blood spilled! It will be the first chapter in the text of life! You see, John Henry Irons I am on a mission from God!
Tex: WHAT!?
Duff: Oh For the love of….not again!
Big Bad John: I am a minister……heh hehe hehehe hehe hehe A minister of war! I will teach you the very first lesson of The Baptism of Blood, from the book of John…..BIG BAD JOHN!
Duff: The guy is nuts. He’s completely lost it.
Big Bad John: And when our worlds collide John Henry Irons, it will be your blood spilled over and over and over! HEH heh hee hee hee! No longer will you be able to spew your injustices over the air. No longer will you be a Censor Nazi to the masses! You will perish by the hand of Big Bad John, and there ain’t a god damned thing you can do about it John Henry Irons!
From the ramp way we can see Fang’s Men in Black running to the ring, carrying anti-riot weapons and gear. Big Bad John sees this and his eyes pop out all wide and crazy like. He gets an evil grin on his face and welcomes the fight.
Big Bad John: Ooh goody, customers! Hee hehe hehe hee!
Big Bad John picks up an unconscious Jason Stevens and tosses him atop of the knocked out and bleeding Casey. The Men in Black storm the ring, and Big Bad John goes in fighting. One MiB attempts to hit Big John with a club, but John blocks it, grabbing the mans arm, and lifting him up, and throwing him into the crowd of Men in Black. They fall backwards out of the ring as Big Bad John can be seen giggling and laughing. A second wave attempts to enter the ring, but Big John just keeps knocking them down. After a moment the MiB storm the outside of the ring on all sides, making sure that Big John can’t escape.
Tex: Well this is interesting. John Irons has apparently been brain-washed by Fang’s Men in Black, and believes himself to be Big Bad Casey. He believes Casey to be John Henry Irons, and is talking all sorts of crazy.
Duff: Someone wake me up from this horrible dream!
Big Bad John: Hee hee heh heh he he. I think we need to have a little chat, don’t you agree Agents? I’ll tell you what we’re going to do. We’re going to get into my car, and drive to the Dairy Queen, and I’ll get you some Ice Cream? Hehe hehe heh….sound good kiddies? Now give me a minute and let the Big man show you how we won’t be screwed by John Henry Irons anymore! REF! WE NEED A REF DOWN HERE! Now don’t be scared, the clowns won’t hurt you. They just need a bit of sprinkles topped on that cone!
As Big John begins to laugh uncontrollably referee “Chocolate” Chip Long is seen running from the back into the ring. Just as Referee Long makes it into the ring, The Men in Black storm the ring and capture the laughing man. As they drag him away off the ring, Big Bad John has just one last thing to say.
Big Bad John: John Henry! John Henry Irons! Your time is near! You and me at WrestleQuest II. I will show the Universe isn’t big enough for two giant men, but only ONE! There can be only ONE! HA HE HE HEE HEE HEHE. A match to end all matches John Henry Irons! A Hardcore Body Slam match! Winner takes all! I’ll own your ass, and make you bleed! HEH HEE HEE! John Henry Irons, you will become a fan, cause Big Bad John is one HELL of a man! Hee hee he hehe!
The MiB finally wrestle the microphone out of Big John’s grasp and drag him up the ramp and into the back. Chip Long looks at both wrestlers and begins a ten count. ONE. Neither stir. TWO. Again nothing. THREE. Finally there is some movement, from Jason Stevens!! Chip Long leans down and asks him if he wishes to continue. Stevens weakly nods his head. Referee Chip Long slaps the mat once. Twice. And three times, thus ending the match.
Stormy Canyon: The Winner of this match……by pinfall……JAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAASSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSOOOOOOOOOOOOONNNNNNNNNNNNN SSSSSSSSSSSTEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEVVVVVVEEEENNNNSSSSS!
The shot pans in at Stevens as Chocolate Chip Long raises his hand in victory. The scene cuts to a short commercial break.
Winner:
Goth can be seen preparing himself for his match when suddenly his cell phone rings and he answers it
Goth: Yeah? Oh it’s you, yeah I know you are here. Yeah I saw you and I told you to wait until the time is right to be dominant my friend… I… wait a second
Goth closes the door of his locker room as he has spotted the camera
Tex: What was that all about?
Vs. Lionheart
As Insomnia fades back out to the arena, Lionheart’s music is already playing and he’s on his way to the ring. He walks slowly looking out at the massive amount of people in attendance. Once he gets to the ring he walks up the steel steps, kicking at each step as he goes. He climbs over the ropes and into the ring as Stormy Canyon introduces this known name from AWA’s past.
Stormy: The following contest is scheduled for one fall where the winner will form a tag team with Jason Stevens! Introducing first making his return to the AWA ring…Lionhearrrrrt!!!
The crowd doesn’t know what to think, but doesn’t need to think long as "Dream" by Dope hits the PA as the lights dim and a blue light flickers. Faust makes his way out onto the ramp where he gently jumps up and down looking at the crowd. He then makes his way down to the ring, slapping some fans hands on the way down. He slides into the ring, then runs to a turnbuckle and raises his arms, then jumps down and starts warming up his arms and neck as the lights go back to normal. He looks over at Lionheart who doesn’t look impressed with Faust at all.
Stormy: And Lionheart’s opponent, from Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, weighing in at 218 pounds…FAUST!!!
Faust continues to warm up until finally the bell rings. Faust looks at Lionheart but Lionheart shakes his head and slides underneath the bottom rope and out of the ring. He just looks up into the ring as the referee assigned to the contest begins a 10 count, which he is obligated to do.
Tex: What? Lionheart’s going to throw this match?
Duff: Perhaps. Either that or he’ll slide back in when he wants to.
The referee keeps counting, already having got to a 4 count. Lionheart backs away from the ring now and positions himself at the bottom of the entrance ramp. Faust moves to one of the turnbuckles and climbs it as the referee continues to count before noticing Faust perched ready to fly. The referee warns him not to do it as Lionheart takes a few steps more back from the ring.
Duff: Looks like he’s running scared like a little lion cub tonight!
Tex: Either that or he just doesn’t want to be in a tag team. Did you ever think about that?
The referee is now up to the count of 7. He just keeps going as Lionheart stands as still as a statue now. 8…9…10! The referee yells for the bell to be rung. He immediately raises Faust’s hand as Stormy makes the announcement.
Stormy: Here is your winner via countout…FAUST!!!!!
The referee with his job now finished vacates the ring. Faust however climbs back up to the ropes and suddenly lets fly and as Lionheart turns to walk to the back, Faust flies into him from behind with a suicide plancha. Lionheart goes down in a heap, but Faust doesn’t seem to care.
Tex: Whoa! I guess Faust didn’t want to win that way. I can see why, no honor in a countout victory.
Duff: He should just take the win and move on…
Faust doesn’t take Duff’s advice and instead brings Lionheart up and lays his body across the nearest set of steel ring steps. Faust locks on a Texas Cloverleaf and Lionheart fades after a short while. The referee is back out at ringside admonishing Faust, telling him to stop, but Faust persists. As soon as Lionheart looks out enough, Faust grabs Lionheart and spikes him on to the top of the steel ring steps with a DDT.
Referee Hal Smith: That’s enough Faust! You won your match. Get out of here!
Faust surveys the damage that he’s just done and just shakes his head at Lionheart, much like what Lionheart had done to him when the bell had first rung. Faust vacates the premises as the scene fades to some words of the wrestlers in tonight’s main event handicapped match…
Winner:
The fans are going wild in the arena at Philadelphia as Metamania exits out of his dressing room, followed by Freya. Freya closes the door as Metamania prepares himself for a match that he’s been waiting for in a long time. Taking Freya by her hand, he looks at her and smiles.
Metamania: Let’s go baby. We have to teach this man a lesson that he’ll never forget.
Freya: Are you ready baby?
He nods and the two of them walk out of the camera range and the camera gets a glance behind him as the couple walk into what’s part of the huge backstage arena before it cuts into a shot of Tex and Duff.
Duff: Goth is going to be having his hands full, Tex, but I hope he crushes the Rebellion in one swoop tonight!
Tex: I don’t think that’s going to happen. One way or another, if either The One And Only or The Elders pins Goth, the Rebellion wins tonight and it will be a huge victory. But can they pull it off? That match is coming…and IT IS NEXT!!!!!!!!!
Vs.
STORMY: “This match is scheduled for one fall and is a handicap match...”
The lights in the arena go out and the crowd begins to buzz in anticipation as 'Violence Fetish’ by Disturbed begins to play over the PA system.
TEX: "Here we go...you know Duff, I hate to say this but this doesn't sit well with me at all."
DUFF: "With you? It doesn't sit well with you? This is a blatant abuse of power! Goth doesn't deserve something like this, he's an icon in this business!"
TEX: "Careful Duff...remember who signs the paychecks around here."
The opening riff slowly grows louder, causing the entire building to rumble…
"Bring the violence,
A thunderous explosion rocks the arena as fireworks and pyrotechnics fill the entrance area. As the smoke clears, Ronin and Ilati step through the haze onto the entrance ramp to a jumbled chorus of cheers and chants.
STORMY: " From Nashville, Tennessee, standing at 6'3” and weighing in at 240 pounds he is “The Hand of the Elders”…RONIN!"
Arriving at the bottom of the ramp, they stop. Ronin holds his fist over his head as another pop of pyro goes off behind him. He smiles ear-to-ear as he slowly walks toward the ring, chanting and high-fiving along with the fans on his way. Ilati waits outside the cell as Ronin steps through the door of the menacing structure and slides under the bottom rope He begins to circle the ring in anticipation.
TEX: "In his own way, Ronin is certainly popular with the fans..."
DUFF: "Normally he's popular with me, but normally he isn't facing Goth!"
TEX: “Its sort of odd isn't it, Duff. Three of your favorites in the ring, two pitted against one. As much as it galls me to say it, in the usual course even I would cast my bet on Goth to come out on top.”
DUFF: "I have faith that no matter what, Goth will pull through and win! This isn't the first time that he’s faced multiple opponents in the ring...though none of them were of the caliber of Ronin and..."
STORMY: "Now entering the ring his partner for this match..."
A drum roll starts up the song and then the riffs kick off Perfect Insanity by Disturbed as Metamania walks out of the curtain and stares at the audience.
STORMY: "From New York City, New York standing at 5’6” tall and weighing in at 176 pounds.. he is the One and Only...METAMANIA! "
Metamania erupts out of the curtain behind a massive flash of pyro and does a quick frontflip. As he lands he straightens and throws his head back, whips both arms to greet the large crowd of spectators. Freya walks out of the curtain behind him as Metamania hops up and down to the rapid guitars before charging at the ring as the first verse begins.
TEX: “He’s “The One and Only” and he looks ready to make good on the threats he's made towards Goth this week...”
DUFF: "He’d better be or he’ll be wrestling one of his final matches here tonight.”
Metamania charges the ring and dives under the bottom rope while Freya follows at a quick walk, welcoming and celebrating with the crowd as she makes her way to Metamania's corner. In the ring Metamania jumps up and stands on the top turnbuckle.
TEX: “Watch how Ronin looks at Metamania...are we sure that they can work together with so much on the line?”
DUFF: “Hey...maybe you're right! Maybe those two will just get in each others way and...ah hell who am I kidding we all know that they have each other’s backs.”
STORMY: "Ladies and gentlemen, now entering the ring led by Sapphira, standing at 6'4" and weighing in at 239 pounds, from Utrecht, the Netherlands. But now residing in New York, NY...AWA's own GothFather, the owner of the AWA...GOTH!"
The Golden Age of Grotesque blasts across the sound system as Goth walks out to the ring, he is dressed in a long black Goth like robes. He is followed to the ring by Sapphira, who is wearing her usual wrestling outfit. Goth stops halfway the entrance way and stares at the crowd who are booing the owner of the AWA who grins and walks further on. In the ring he lets Sapphira take off his robe and he stares down his opponent in the ring::
DUFF: “I think its a dirty shame that Goth's amazing appearance in the Wachovia Center here in Philly, PA has to be ruined by those two losers Metamania and Ronin...”
TEX: “Who you otherwise like.”
DUFF: “Shut up!”
TEX: “Love him or hate him, you can't deny that Goth is a force to be reckoned with in the ring. His record speaks for itself, no matter what you think of the man personally.”
DUFF: “There is a very good reason he is feared, and I'm thinking after this night is over, Ronin and Metamania may well regret poking their noses into the GothFather’s business!”
TEX: “You have to feel for Sapphira in this situation, I think she looks worried for Goth...those big blue eyes focused on her man like she can just will him to win.”
DUFF: “She shouldn't worry, Goth is going to be just fine. He's had worse odds in the past, he can put these two away no problem at all.”
The referee called all three men to the center of the ring and nervously glanced between them all, the level of tension high as he almost stutteringly told them what he expected out of them during the course of the match. During his speech both Metamania and Ronin glare at the ref, while Goth mocks him by buffing his nails on his “Goth Father” t-shirt and examining them critically as if that was far more important than anything the zebra-shirted man had to say. Standing just to the side of the referee Metamania held up a hand and made 'yack yack yack' motions with it and Freya snickered from her spot at ringside until she noticed Sapphira staring at her with intensity from her location in Goth's 'corner'. Sapphira pointed at Goth in the ring, then pointed at Freya before drawing her thumb across her throat in clear threat, when Freya glared back then Sapphira gave her the middle finger before Freya could get her own one gun salute going much to the amusement of the fans in the front row.
With a look that showed a bit of reluctance the referee signaled for the bell and got the hell out of the way as Metamania and Ronin exchanged a look that says 'let's do this'.
However Goth moves faster than they anticipate at the bell, and as Metamania turns he gets a Big Boot to the face. As Ronin lunged at him, Goth snatches up Ronin by the upper arm, lifts with main force, spins and throws Ronin over the top rope like a sack of laundry. Goth doesn't wait, as Metamania moves to get up Goth punts him in the chest sending him toppling back to the mat and he moved with graceful athleticism goes for the fast cover.
ONE! TWO!
After the ref's hand slaps for two though Metamania got his foot on the rope and the referee made Goth back off.
Metamania rolled up to his feet but Goth was ready and got him up with a quick jerk under Metamania's arms and he slammed him back down, Metamania hit hard but managed a Pele kick out of it but unfortunately for him only tips his boot on Goth's right arm. At this point Ronin slides in under the bottom rope, Goth didn't see him as Ronin catches Metamania's eye, Metamania surged up off the mat faster than The Goth Father expected and he spun Goth into Ronin's running knee lift as the “Hand of the Elders” howls at the impact. Goth's large frame folds over the knee and Ronin hits a Puro style chop against his ribs, Ilati cheers on her man with a pleased grin as Sapphira turns her glare at her.
TEX: “What a hit by Ronin! That was enough to make me cringe!”
DUFF: “Tex, the list of things that make you cringe is a mile long!”
Goth was far from done, his expression almost evil as he grabbed Metamania and flung him into an Irish whip to the far ropes, and moves with amazing agility to bull Ronin over and off his feet, sending the Universal Champ crashing to the mat with authority. As Metamania comes back on the rebound Goth grabbed him by the throat, Metamania's eyes going wide as Goth lifted him into the air and using Metamania's own momentum spun with him and then slammed him hard into the mat for a vicious textbook Choke Slam. The One and Only was grounded, arching on the mat and Freya shrieks her displeasure at the move to the referee as Sapphira mocks her from her side of the ring.
Ronin in the meantime kips up and when Goth steps back from putting Metamania down hard, he gets hit with two quick Muay thai kicks to the ribs. A vicious snarl comes from the Ronin’s throat and Goth fades back, sort of arches his side and literally without warning his catches Ronin with his boot in that stunning dodge kick right in the face. Ronin goes down and Goth was right there to cover, using his body weight to hold him down as the referee dropped to count fast.
ONE! TWO!
The near pinfall on Ronin was broken with the sudden resurgence of Metamania, with a hard knee-drop that landed across Goth's shoulder and back. Goth rolled up to his feet, shoving the tenacious Ronin away from him, but Metamania was there waiting and grabbed Goth's right wrist with both his hands to double handed Irish whip him to the near corner. Goth hits the turnbuckles hard as Ronin and Metamania double-team him trading punches in the corner as if trying to see who can hit him harder. The referee is quick to try and step in, getting an elbow 'accidentally' from Ronin for his trouble but instead of backing off threatens them both with a count as Goth defends his ribs. He starts a count as Metamania laughs at him, not in the mood to take crap he grabs Metamania first and yanks him away from Goth with the admonishment that if he doesn't listen up he will disqualify them and give the win to Goth. Ronin was still right up close to Goth as he glanced to look at the referee though, which proved to be an error on his part.
TEX: “I don't think I'd want to be that close to a pissed off Goth!”
DUFF: “Yeah that's right up there with not wanting to stand in front of a firing squad on my list of things I never want to do...OH yeah, I think he's regretting it now!”
Goth comes out of the corner and literally jerks Ronin right off his feet and dead lifts him over his head, hitting a huge body slam from the full height of Goth's raised arms after stepping forward towards the center of the ring. Ronin bounces from the force of the impact but before Goth can capitalize on the move Metamania's boots slam into him from behind with a laser-precise missile drop-kick that sends Goth towards the far ropes. On his way he leaps over the downed Ronin rather than step on him but instead of being grateful, Ronin grabs The Goth Father's booted ankle and twists.
Goth hit the ropes at an odd angle with force which caused him to get tangled between the middle and top strand with his right arm. Goth tries to unwrap the ropes from his arm even as the ref steps in to try to free him, the camera catching the referee's expression as Goth suddenly shoves him out of the way. Before the referee could gripe him out he saw why as Ronin and Metamania attacked simultaneously. Goth had a present waiting though for Metamania, greeting him with a Big Boot right in the mouth that drops the masked man like a shot.
Instead of getting routed though, Ronin was quick thinking and dove over the downed Metamania to hit Goth with a hard hooking clothesline that sent himself sailing right over the top rope to the floor below. Unfortunately for Goth it flipped him clean over which aided the ropes to untangle but left him hanging by his right arm for long seconds as he worked to free himself.
Metamania realized what was going on and got up fast, backed up a few feet and then ran with all his speed to hit a sharp baseball slide right into Goth's ribs. Goth dropped to floor cradling his arm to his side and Metamania followed through, Ronin rising off the mat-covered floor and both men started laying the boots to the downed Goth.
TEX: “This doesn't look good for Goth, these two men certainly do know how to work well together!”
DUFF: “Apparently so...although if they don't watch it the referee is going to count all three of them out...hey!! Hurry that count up you lazy striped shirt jerk! This could be over and Goth could be in the back already!”
The referee had already shouted his warning to all three men, beginning his count as the crowd chanted along, Freya yelling at Metamania to wake the -bleep- up and realize what was happening, Sapphira looked concerned as the camera caught her, taking a few steps towards where Goth was but keeping her spot close enough – she knew Goth wouldn't want her to interfere and get caught in the cross-fire on this, he'd made that clear time and again but it was easy to tell she wanted to help her man. Ilati, for her part, was trying to get Ronin’s attention to warn him of the referee’s count. As the referee counted Goth started to rise and Ronin hits a jumping swinging neckbreaker bringing them both down to the floor hard.
Metamania realizing the count was already to seven rolled in under the bottom strand to break the count as Ronin tries to stomp the downed Goth again, but this time Goth comes up and gets his arms locked around Ronin's midsection in a solid bear hug. The Goth Father realizes where he is and grins viciously, taking a few charging steps with him and dropping Ronin face first onto ring steps as the crowd shouts OH! Ronin groggily slides off the metal steps bleeding from his nose and it looks to be his right ear as Goth rolls back in the ring. Metamania is waiting on him and hits him with a solid Mafia kick that lands Goth flat on his back on the mat.
Seizing his moment of advantage Metamania charges the ropes and leaps at the second strand going for a springboard moonsault but as he goes into the rotation Goth surges off the mat and catches him in a massive chokeslam! As Metamania rolls over after the impact he coughs and spits blood, his lip clearly busted open. Goth advances with a malicious gleam in his eyes, clearly meaning to make Metamania pay for his earlier assault, but by now Ronin had already gotten back up to the apron. Seeing Goth locked in on his prey, Ronin climbed up the turnbuckles from the outside and then sailed off into space, hitting Goth with a top rope fist drop.
TEX: “I don't think I've ever seen Goth do a single chokeslam with his left hand before...it looks like Metamania is having trouble seeing out of his right eye from where Goth caught him with that boot earlier too.”
DUFF: “He is favoring that right arm but its not like Goth hasn't fought with worse...”
The camera got a good look as Metamania's eye puffed higher from the bruise, a world-class shiner forming as the eye swelled shut. It didn't seem to affect him that much, but Goth was moving slower now, clearly favoring his right side, keeping his arm in close to his ribs and planting his left foot to keep himself steady. Metamania and Ronin double-teamed Goth with pair of dropkicks from opposite sides, the “Hand of the Elders” catching him in the upper right shoulder and the “One and Only” hitting him high in the upper left chest, spinning him around like a top as he finally went down to his knees.
Metamania rushes up to the near corner and runs right up the turnbuckles to balance with that innate agility of his, pausing only an extra few seconds since he by now couldn't see anything out of his right eye and didn't want to miss. Once he was sure, he leaps off the turnbuckle and spins gracefully mid air, hitting a corkscrew moonsault off the top rope with his full body weight crashing into Goth and putting him down on the mat. Goth didn't know how to quit no matter what, pain was something he fought through time and again and took strength from and he got back up to his hands and knees, almost ready to get up as Ronin now sizes up the man. With a sick twisted grin he kicked the toe of his boot three times on the mat hard, and then punt kicks Goth in the face.
Blood sprayed out from a pressure cut near Goth's hairline as Ronin, with a bit of difficulty, draws Goth up and pushes him forward in the ropes before whipping him in the other side of the ring and goes for a text book Clothesline that sends Goth down to the canvas and Ronin goes for the cover. The referee slaps his hand on the canvas for the count of three as suddenly Goth gets his shoulder off the canvas at the count of 2,5. The fans are jumping up and down as they were thinking that it was a count of 3, but boo as they see the signal from the referee as he tells Ronin that it was a count of two. Ronin starts to pound away at the busted open part of the forehead of Goth as we see the blood flow from his face. The camera turns towards Metamania, who is trying to get to his feet while holding on to his throat. Seeing what is going on with Ronin as he shouts towards his tag team partner to get deliver a slam on the owner of the company as he climbs the turnbuckles. Ronin lifts Goth up to his feet and delivers a big time Body Slam as Ronin gets to his corner and watches as Metamania delivers a Frog Splash on the owner. But instead of hitting the move on the Gothfather it is Goth that gets his knees up and catches Metamania stomach first. This causes him to roll around and rolls out of the ring. We see the referee slide out of the ring as he wants to check on the physical state of the member of the Rebellion when suddenly a figure dressed in black slides in the ring and grabs Ronin by the arm and spins him around before kicking him in the midsection and executes a DDT in the middle of the ring before rolling Goth on top of the Universal Champion.
Tex: Don’t let this match and Metamania’s career end this way!!!!!
The referee sees what is going on in the ring as he gets in the ring. The figure already has slipped out of the ring and celebrates in the middle of the of the entrance way as he has pulled of his mask and reveals it to be Fang.
Duff: Whoa!!! Did you expected that???
Tex: I knew it was too good to be true!!!
The referee slaps his hand on the canvas for the three count, but somehow it is Ronin that manages to get his shoulder off the canvas at the final moment when suddenly Canis charges in and attacks Fang from behind. The General Manager trades blows with the number one contender of the Universal Championship as Goth gets to his feet and sees what is going on. He grabs the head of Ronin and whips him to the outside of the ring and then gets out of the other side and grabs the head of Metamania and slides him out of the ring as he signals for the crowd that he is going to finish it for once and for all.
Tex: I hope Meta can fight back somehow
Goth trades blows to the skull of Metamania as he has lifted him up to his feet. Goth goes for another punch, but Metamania blocks it and manages to turn Goth around and executes a backslide as he gets Goth in a pinning combination. This only causes Goth to kick out at the count of two as Metamania gets up first and executes a dropkick to the knee of Goth. This causes Goth to drop to the canvas and is in pain. His face is now completely covered in blood as Metamania looks at the outside. He sees Fang fight with Canis as he orders Ronin to attack Fang while he turns around to see that the referee gets distracted by Sapphira as she is complaining about unfair tactics. Metamania then tells Freya to get him a chair as Freya slides a chair in the ring and Metamania places it in the middle of the ring and then turns around towards Goth. But just as he turns around it is another masked figure that charges in on Metamania and delivers a kick to the midsection of Metamania and delivers a Goth Drop and then slides out of the ring as the camera follows the black figure as he runs through the crowd. Goth manages to crawl over to Metamania and places his arm over the chest of the member of the Rebellion and we see Sapphira telling the referee to do his job
Tex: No!!! Not this way!!
The referee jumps towards the pinning situation and counts to three as we hear the bell ring and Goth has beaten Metamania and Ronin. Causing Metamania to be retiring at WrestleQuest II. Suddenly we see Canis deliver a clothesline to Fang as he runs to the ring and slides in the ring and attacks Goth, while Fang continues to be attacked by Ronin. Canis starts to deliver punch after punch to the bloodied face of Goth. Who finally rolls him over and Goth returns the favor as Metamania can be seen holding on to his head in pain and disbelief that his career is over. Canis turns Goth over and grabs him by the head before delivering a big time DDT in the middle of the ring as he helps Metamania to his feet. He tells him to deliver a Moonsault off the top rope as Metamania does so. Canis holds on to the legs of Goth as Metamania executes the move on the owner as the fans cheer him on. Canis stands over Goth as we suddenly hear the announcement from Stormy Canyon.
Stormy: The winner of this match… Goth!! Therefore Metamania will retire at WrestleQuest II as he faces Chaos!!!!
The fans boo the announcement as the show comes to an end as Canis stands over a broken Goth with Metamania standing beside him
