Fang: Ah New Delhi, the third world’s Beverly Hills.
The crowd boos louder as the Master Deal Broker taunts them.
Fang: Seriously, though. Tonight I’m here to let the whole AWA know that their International Champion is back in action. After WrestleQuest I had a few things to tend to. Now as everyone saw I defeated Morbius Tassius soundly, but I’m not going to take credit for his retirement. That was planned weeks, and months before our match ever happened, the man just wanted to go out his way, on the greatest stage in the Wrestling Industry.
Tex: Fang’s not going to gloat? He’s not going to rub it in?
Duff: He’s showing respect to a man who showed him the path to greatness. Even Fang knows it’s not always about him.
Fang lets the crowd get their chants out of the way for Morbius. He smiles as they Indian fans give the Personification of Greatness his due. He then returns the mic to his lips.
Fang: Unlike Morbius I have no plans to go anywhere anytime soon. I plan on breaking my own record as the longest reigning International Champion, a feat I will accomplish in a few short days. In the mean time I want to address one young man who thinks he’s going to bowl right through me to become a Grand Slam champion. A man who’s had as many belts in as many feds as I’ve had. A man who feels he should still be the Universal Champion, and would still be if it had not been for my brother, Goth. A man who is so paranoid that he thinks there is some conspiracy against him, when in fact he was sadly just in the wrong place at the wrong time. Now, like so many other idiots he has decided to go to war against The Family. That man is Anthony Phoenix.
The crowd pops at the mention of Phoenix, that just brings a familiar sneer to Fang’s face. The Wolf God nods his head and looks around the arena.
Fang: And so it begins, the fans have anointed a new hero, a new savior. A man they will rally behind in hopes that he can destroy the evil that pervades the AWA. That’s fine, embrace him, hold him to your bosom. Chant to him how great he is, it will only make it that much more satisfying when I CRUSH HIM.
The fans begin the Fang Sucks chants and Fang just smiles
Fang: I’ve done it with each and every person that you have rallied behind. I have beaten every man who thought he could take me down. Gold, Thirteen, Shipman, Maxim, Tassius, the list goes on and on of the men you’ve supported. The men you’ve held up as the people who would be able to destroy me. The people who would could take away my deathgrip on this title. While Hank Henry was indeed successful he only lit a new fire inside me. A new determination and I was able to come back, regain the gold and defend it as I have since then. No, Phoenix will not be able to take this away from me. He should not even try, but I KNOW he will. So I am going to give him his chance. I am going to be magnanimous, and benevolent. I am going to let him challenge for the AWA International Title this month at Break Out.
Tex: Can he do that?
Duff: He’s the International Champion and the brother of the owner of the AWA I think that gives him the right to do whatever he wants.
The Truth Shall Set Me Free blast over the PA. The Man in Black grins as the King of Controversy walks out from backstage. He looks around to make sure it’s not an ambush and then walks up into the ring. He smiles as he stands face to face, Armani suit to Armani suit with Fang. Then he pulls his own microphone from his suit.
Tex: This could be a set up.
Duff: Fang’s MIB’s could have taken Phoenix out any time if he had wanted him gone. I think Fang see something in the kid.
Phoenix: So you’ve decided to show your face and stop hiding from me. You know, Fang, I’ve been wanting to get a piece of you since you slammed me against the wall at WrestleQuest. I’m going to take that International Title and leave you bleeding in the ring and that’s the truth.
Fang: Anthony, you wouldn’t know the truth if it slapped you in the face with it’s tits. You see, son, what you see before you IS the best wrestler the AWA has to offer. I’ve been voted Wrestler of the Year two years in a row. I’m a two time Universal Champion and a four time International Champion. I helped create this company, and I was the first face these low-life people saw when the company broadcast it’s very first show. I AM THE AWA.
Fang grins at Phoenix. The Beast Who Will Be King doesn’t flinch of move but the anger in Anthony’s face is beginning to show. He’s about to say something when Fang interrupts him.
Fang: Keep your mouth shut when your betters are talking boy. You see I’ve taken on every legend this company has had. Ronin, Metamania, Chaos, and most recently Morbius Tassius. In the end I’ve sent them all packing. In the end I have remained. In the END I AM THE TRUE IMMORTAL OF PRO WRESTLING. You come crawling in the door thinking you’re going to be so damn great. Thinking that the roster should be scared of you. Coming out here week after week talking about how Goth screwed you. Phoenix, let me tell you, if Goth had the slightest interest in messing with you, you’d know. I’ve been there and done that. So, I’m going to do what adults do. I’m going to pull this contract out of my suit. You’re going to sign it, then I’m going to sign it. Then you get to hold onto the contract till Break Out. Then next week at Break Out you’ll be wrestling me for the INTERNATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP. If you win, you’re the International Champion and a Grand Slam achiever, if not.. YOU SHUT THE FUCK UP.
Fang pulls out a black piece of paper with red lettering on it. He hands it to Anthony with a large feather pen. Anthony grabs it and looks for a place to sign it. Fang offers his back to him. Anthony then signs. Fang turns around and takes the paper. Anthony doesn’t turn around. Fang pulls out a tube and signs the contract over the tube. He then rolls it up and puts it in the tube. He gestures to Anthony to take the tube. Anthony puts his right hand on the tube and then tries to sucker punch Fang. Fang adjusts and hits the Fatal Shot on Anthony. He then rolls Anthony on his back, places the tube on his chest and folds his arms over his chest to hold the tube. He grins and then walks out of the ring.
Tex: Oh My God, Phoenix versus Fang for the International Title at Break Out. And the Man In Black as also sent Anthony a message. We know Goth may be the Head of the Family, but Fang is definitely the Enforcer, and may be the most dangerous member of the group. I hope Anthony can handle what he’s gotten himself into.
Fang looks back from the stage and sneers as Insomnia fades to commercial
Steve Ramone vs. Alex Young
A LESSON OF VIOLENCE by Exodus hits the speakers as the lights dim. The lights come up as the vocals kick in and we see Steve Ramone step out from behind the backstage partition. Ramone wastes no time posing at the landing at the top of the entrance ramp but instead of that he takes off in a run down the ramp and to the ring. As he reaches the wrestling ring he dives under the bottom rope and slides to a stop in the ring. Steve quickly gets to his feet, he runs into a corner and mounts the corner ropes, and he plays the crowd to a mixed reaction. After Ramone plays the crowd he climbs up to the top turnbuckle in the corner and he executes a back flip off the top turnbuckle, landing on his feet on the mat, and then he takes a bow to another mixed reaction from the crowd.
TEX: I am very surprised that the people in India are giving Steve Ramone a mixed reaction to his entrance. I mean, come on, Ramone is a very nice guy and he is likeable so what is their problem?
DUFF: The people in India are mostly poor and they paid hard earned money to come to this wrestling event. They want to see wrestling and not acrobatic moves.
TEX: Well, Steve Ramone is a High Flyer style of wrestler so the people here just have to deal with it eh?
STORMY CANYON: Our first wrestler for this match hails from New York City, he weighs 200 pounds, and he stands 6 feet even, please give a warm New Delhi welcome to STEVE "THE FEARLESS ONE" RAMONE!!!
The crowd switches to a mostly favorable reaction now but we are not sure why. Ramone poses for the crowd again but his posing is cut short when we hear CAN'T BE TOUCHED by Roy Jones hit the speakers. We see Alex Young step out from the backstage area and as he walks across the landing at the top of the entrance area pyros erupt around him. Young walks down the entrance ramp toward the ring, shaking hands of the fans as he goes. When Alex reaches the ring he pulls himself up on the ring apron and then he steps through the ropes. He also runs to a corner and mounts the turnbuckle to play the crowd. Alex Young also gets a mostly positive reaction from the crowd. Young jumps off the ropes and he leans back into the corner to face in the direction where Steve Ramone is located.
TEX: Well the reaction from the crowd is about even for these two. I am not sure how this match is going to play out.
DUFF: Due to the fact that both these guys like to play by the rules I hope we don't end up with a boring snooze-fest match.
STORMY CANYON: Our next wrestler for this match hails from Miami, Florida, he weighs 255 pounds, and he stands 6 feet 6 inches tall, please give a warm welcome to "IRRESISTIBLE" ALEX YOUNG!!!
The crowd gives an equally and mostly favorable reaction to the announcement of Alex Young. Referee "Chocolate" Chip Long waddles to the middle of the ring and he calls Steve Ramone and Alex Young to join him there. Referee Long runs down the rules of this match which is Standard Rules, meaning no cheating, no weapons, and no interference. He further informs the wrestlers that a win is obtained by pinfall, submission, knockout, disqualification, or countout, however if the time limit runs out the match will be declared a Draw. Referee Chip Long asks the wrestlers if they understand the rules of this match and both acknowledge that they do. Chip Long directs the wrestlers to go into any corner to await the bell to start the match.
TEX: I have to lean toward Alex Young in this match. He comes in with 55 pounds more weight than Steve Ramone and he is also 6 inches taller. He is a solid All-Around wrestler so I believe he will easily handle the lighter and shorter High-Flying Steve Ramone.
DUFF: Height and weight are not always a favorable factor in a wrestling match. Steve should be able to out-maneuver Alex easily in this match since he can fly around the ring and catch Young off guard. However, we will have to wait and see how the match goes.
Referee Long motions to the Timekeeper to ring the bell to begin the match. As soon as the bell rings both wrestlers charge out of their corners and they collide in the center of the ring. Alex has the advantage due to his height and weight and as the two wrestlers smack into each other we see Steve Ramone get knocked back into the ropes. Ramone hits the ropes and rebounds off them quickly and as he flies toward Young he smacks Alex in the chest with a nicely executed forearm smash. Alex wasn't expecting that so he is stunned for a moment. Ramone decides to take advantage of the surprise by running into the corner to leap off the top rope. He waits on the top rope until he notices that Alex Young is about to turn around and face in his direction. As Young is turning we see Ramone leap off the top rope to attempt to land his body into the chest of Alex. Young sees him flying through the air and he is able to catch Ramone in mid-flight and he flips and slams Steve Ramone hard to the mat with his body on top of him for added pressure. Young is across the chest of Ramone and he hooks the legs for a pin attempt. Referee Long drops into position, checks the shoulders of Ramone, and he begins his count. ONE...TWO...but Ramone gets a shoulder up to break the count.
TEX: A near pinfall by Alex Young early in the match. I told you those High-Flyer wrestlers are at a disadvantage since they use high-risk and low-percentage maneuvers which fail more often than they succeed.
DUFF: You are simply jealous because you can't even jump off your couch.
TEX: Keep up with the smart comments Duff and I am going to jump on you!
DUFF: Idle threats Tex.
Alex is upset he didn't get the pinfall there so he stands up and reaches down to drag Steve Ramone to his feet. While he is pulling Ramone to his feet, Steve manages to strip the hands of Alex off his body and he lands a standing dropkick to the chest and face of Young. Alex staggers back a few steps and then he charges Steve Ramone. The two lock up and they are jockeying for position. Young again uses his height and weight to maneuver Ramone into the corner. Referee Long steps in to demand a break by Alex. Young breaks for only a split-second before landing a punch to the jaw of Steve Ramone. Chip Long issues a warning to Alex Young but while he is admonishing Young, Ramone grabs Alex, spins him around into the corner, and while he has Alex into the corner, Ramone mounts the corner ropes and he starts laying hard punches to the head of Young. Referee Chip Long demands a break by Ramone. Steve jumps off the ropes and he takes a few steps back to allow Alex Young to come out of the corner.
TEX: That was awful! I cannot believe that Steve Ramone would be so vicious as to break the rules like that the hit Alex Young while he was against the ropes!
DUFF: Tex, you really do reside on a one-way street don't you? You saw that Alex Young was the one who started the illegal hits while Steve Ramone was against the ropes but you conveniently ignore that? What is fair for one is fair for the other. If I was Referee Chip Long I would just let these two do whatever they want to each other and not issue warnings since both are violating the rules.
Steve Ramone waits for Alex Young to step out of the corner. Alex decides to remain in the corner which allows him to get a break from the action for a little bit. Young waves off Ramone but Steve is getting impatient with the delay. Ramone demands that Referee Long order Young out of the corner. Due to the delay in the match Referee Long decides to make a five count on Young to get out of the corner. ONE...TWO...THREE...FOUR... Young allows to the four count and then he steps out of the corner a few steps. He motions for Steve Ramone to bring it to him. The challenge causes Ramone to get fired up and he dives toward Young to land a forearm smash. Alex side-steps the maneuver and Steve lands hard into the turnbuckle, hitting his elbow on the turnbuckle instead of being able to hit Alex Young. Alex grabs Steve by the arm and he drags Ramone's arm behind his back into a hammer lock maneuver. He is pulling up hard on the arm which Steve hit on the turnbuckle and he drags Ramone into the center of the ring so that Steve cannot reach the ropes for a break. We can tell that the pressure on the hammer lock is causing a lot of pain to Ramone. He is desperately trying to maneuver to the ropes to obtain a break. Chip Long steps in to ask Steve Ramone if he wishes to submit but he yells out NO! and the match continues.
TEX: That was a great maneuver on the part of Alex Young. First he delays getting back into the match which caused Steve Ramone to get upset at him. Then he challenges Steve to come to him in the corner which he did. Then after Ramone missed the forearm smash and landed his elbow hard into the turnbuckle instead of hitting Young with it, Alex took full advantage by applying the hammer lock to Steve Ramone. I think we are going to have a submission here.
DUFF: No way is a hammer lock going to cause Steve Ramone to give up this early in the match. He didn't hit his elbow that hard on the turnbuckle. It is simply a matter of him maneuvering Alex Young to the ropes for the break or he will find another way of getting out of the hold.
Ramone struggles hard and he makes it to the ropes where he slips his leg through the ropes which results in a break demand by Referee Chip Long. Young reluctantly releases the hold and he steps back per the request of the Referee. Alex is obviously anxious to get on with this match but Steve remains tied up in the ropes to get a well needed break from the action. Young goes off on the Referee to make him get Ramone back into the match. Referee Long steps up to Steve Ramone and he tells him to continue with the match and stop stalling or he will be disqualified. Steve doesn't do anything so Chip Long makes a count on him. At a three count Ramone removes himself from the ropes and he turns and faces Alex Young while leaning against the ropes.
TEX: What's up with Steve Ramone here? He bragged about what a great wrestler he is and yet he is afraid to get back into action in this match after Alex Young got the better of him?
DUFF: It's called strategy Tex. It is making your opponent think they have you stepping back, that your opponent has the advantage over you, and then you take an extended break to irritate your opponent. It is a tactic all wrestlers use to get their opponent frustrated. An angry and frustrated opponent is an opponent who makes critical mistakes.
Steve Ramone is leaning against the ropes not willing to step out to meet Alex Young. Alex is motioning for Steve to come off the ropes to the middle of the ring but Ramone is ignoring him. With quick thinking we see Young motion toward Referee Chip Long as he tells Steve Ramone that the Referee is calling him. In a moment of distraction Ramone looks over toward Referee Chip Long and that is enough distraction for Alex Young to fly at Steve Ramone and clothesline him over the top rope. Ramone flies over the top rope and he lands hard on the floor. He doesn't hit anything but the floor on the way down so he manages to get to his feet rather quickly. Ramone begins a walk around the ring to shake off the landing while Alex Young remains in the ring and Referee Chip Long begins the count on Steve on the outside of the ring.
TEX: There you go Duff! A split-second of distraction and it may have cost Steve Ramone this match. I have to give a ton of credit to Alex Young for his quick thinking to distract Ramone in the manner he did.
DUFF: I am about to distract you with a kick to your groin!
Ramone continues to walk around the ring while Referee Long is counting on him. ONE...TWO... Alex Young is telling Referee Long that he wants Ramone back inside the ring and Chip Long informs Young that Ramone has until a ten count to return to the ring. THREE...FOUR... Steve is continuing his walk around the ring while Alex is getting anxious for him to return so he can finish him off. FIVE... Ramone looks up into the ring and he gives a hand gesture toward Alex Young which most would consider offensive and this gets Young rather upset. SIX... Steve Ramone approaches the ring apron and he is about to read up and grab the ropes to pull himself up on the ring apron and return into the ring when Alex Young pushes his way past Referee Long and he attempts to baseball slide into Ramone. This breaks the Referee's count and since Steve Ramone saw Alex Young coming at him, he manages to jump back from the ring apron and this causes Young to slide under the bottom rope and he is dangling over the ring apron. Ramone takes full advantage of this by dragging Alex completely outside the ring. Referee Long begins a count on both wrestlers on the outside of the ring.
TEX: Both wrestlers need to be aware of the Referee's count so they don't get counted out.
DUFF: They are about to duke it out so I am not sure if they can hear the Referee.
Alex and Steve start trading punches and neither is getting the advantage. Ramone dives into the midsection of Young and he drives Alex hard into the barricade. As Young slumps to the floor, Ramone turns and quickly dives into the ring and breaks the Referee's count. Referee Long pushes Steve Ramone back and he tells him to remain back to allow Alex Young to get back into the ring. At the same time Chip Long starts a count on Young. ONE... Alex is slowly getting to his feet. TWO...Young is to his feet and he walks over to the ring steps. THREE...Alex climbs the ring steps and then he ducks through the rope and Referee Long stops his count. Young is visibly upset at the cheap shot into the barricade and we can see the intensity in his eyes as he goes after Ramone.
TEX: Uh oh! It looks like Alex Young is ready to put an end to this match.
DUFF: Yeah, by getting pinned by Steve Ramone? Ha ha ha!
Young runs across the ring to attack Ramone. Steve avoids the attempt and then he runs into a corner and leaps up on the ropes. Ramone flips off the ropes to attempt a high-flying maneuver on Young but Alex catches him in the air and power slams Ramone hard to the mat. Alex remains on top of Steve as he firmly hooks the legs for the pin. Referee Long is slow to get into position and after he checks the shoulders of Steve Ramone the Referee makes an obviously slow count. ONE...TWO... and Ramone manages to get a shoulder up. Alex Young is verbal in his complaint to Referee Long in the slow pinfall count. Referee Long indicates two fingers for a two count. Young again complains that he would have had the pinfall had Long been in position and had he started his pinfall count sooner. Referee Long again indicates he only got a two count and that the match continues.
TEX: Somebody call the Police as Referee Chip Long is guilty of a robbery! He just totally and deliberately robbed Alex Young of a victory with that very slow pinfall count!
DUFF: Oh shut up! I never hear you complain about a slow count when it is a wrestler you favor getting pinned and he or she is able to get out of the pin due to a slow count. In those instances you always back up the Referee and say that his count was fine. Just shut up Tex!
Alex Young is very animated as he gets right up in the face of Referee Chip Long and he is stomping his feet in protest. Long is taking the lip from Alex as he is not going to argue with a wrestler and he doesn't feel he has to justify his officiating skills. While Young is jawing at Referee Long we see Steve Ramone slip up behind Alex Young and he grabs Alex and he flips him backward and he rolls him up into a pinning combination. Referee Long is so quick to get down for the pinfall count that he doesn't notice that Steve Ramone has a firm grasp on the waistband of Alex's wrestling attire which is illegal. Chip Long drops and his count is so quick that everyone in the stadium is amazed. ONETWOTHREE!!! Steve Ramone release the hold on Alex Young and he quickly slides out of the ring and he stands near the announcer table of Tex and Duff while Alex Young is again arguing with Referee Chip Long and complaining that Steve Ramone had a hold on his waistband.
TEX: Now that is a legitimate complaint to the Referee! Chip Long counted so fast on that illegal pin that he broke the Sound Barrier doing so! This is a travesty of the sport of Wrestling!
DUFF: Oh boo friggin hoo Tex! If it was the other way around you would be praising Referee Long for making a great pinfall count. Shut up before I drag you out of your chair and kick you in the groin!
STORMY CANYON: Ladies and Gentlemen, here is the winner of this match by...uh...pinfall? Please...uh...congratulate STEVE "THE FEARLESS ONE" RAMONEEEEE!!!!!
The crowd reacts with a mostly negative reaction as Steve Ramone, who is still standing near the announcer table, raises his hands in victory. The crowd becomes more vocal as Ramone celebrates on his way back up the ramp to return to the backstage area. The crowd gets really nasty when their attention is drawn back to the ring where Alex Young is still arguing and pleading with Referee Chip Long about his bogus call on the match. Realizing that his complaint is falling on deaf ears Alex Young informs Referee Long that he will take his appeal to Asylum Wrestling Alliance Owner, Goth, to see if the decision can be overruled. Alex slides out of the ring and as he is making his way up the ramp to return to the backstage area the crowd gets to their feet and they give Young a standing ovation.
Winner: Steve Ramone
The AWA is just coming back from commerical when the riffs of a guitar from some country rock song begins to blare over the P.A. “Back in the good ole days. They knew how to brawl. I’m talkin real gunslingers. I’m talking real outlaws.” The lyrics continue until “Nobody’s gonna break it up!”. At that point, pyro shoots off from the stage. The crowd goes nuts when they see then man in black, Jason John Cash standing at the entrance way with a huge grin on his face. He stands there, drinking in the music and the crowd. He nods to himself and struts down to the ring with his beer at his lips.
Once at the ring, he slides I and gets himself a dip. He grabs a mic.
Cash: Well how in the blue hell’re yall damn doin out there?! I gotta damn tell ya..I’ve missed the hell outa this? I want yall to damn know that I didn’t never forget yall. And I’m sure yall’re damn wonderin just where in the hell has Jason Cash been. Welp…Been locked up. Yup. I’m sure yall saw that mess on the news. Some ignorant sumbitch hit his wife so I hit him. So yall gone be seein a whole lotta Jason John Cash!
Cash turns up his beer and throws the empty into the crowd. His music his and he struts out of the arena.
Nicholas Brooks vs. Anarchy
The all lights instantly go out inside of the arena, as the Pryde faithful cheer and stand to their feet.
CLAP! CLAP! CLAP! CLAP! CLAP! CLAP! CLAP! CLAP! CLAP!
#I'm living in that 21st century#
#Doing something mean to it#
#Do it better than anybody you've ever seen do it#
#Scream from the haters, got a nice ring to it#
#I guess every superhero needs his theme music#
Stormy Canyon: Making his way to the ring, hailing from Miami, Florida ... weighing in at 269lbs…he is… "Heatwave" Nicholas Brooks!
#No one man should have all that power#
#The clocks ticking#
#I just count the hours#
#Stop trippin I'm tripping off the power#
#Til then, fuck that, the world's ours#
The pop is deafening as the man known as Heatwave steps out from the curtain onto the steel stage with a wide smile on his face before making his way down the ramp towards the ring, sliding underneath the ropes.
"Burn" by Papa Roach begins to fill the arena. Red and white strobes begin to go off as the entrance ramp fills with smoke. From the smoke comes Dominic Bishop strutting as he does. Then from behind walks out the beast Anarchy. He looks crazed and determined as the fans booing doesn't even register to him. As they get to the foot of the entrance ramp Dominic gives a final few words of advice before Anarchy jumps onto the apron, steps over the top rope, and stands in his corner prepared to destroy his opponent.
Stormy Canyon: Making his way to the ring.. weighing in at 270 lbs, he is Anarchy!
Anarchy climbs in the ring and climbs the second ropes and puts one hand up in the air.
As the bell sounds both men meet in the middle of the ring and immediately locks up with a collar bone tie-up and the larger Anarchy quickly pushes Brooks into the ropes and once Brooks bounces off the ropes, Anarchy connects with a running knee lift, dropping Brooks on his back. Quickly to get to his feet, Brooks is hit again with another knee lift…and is hit with another knee lift for a third time, before Heatwave slides out of the ring to gather his bearings as Anarchy looks around the crowd to a small ovation of boos.
Duff- What the hell is this?
Tex- Anarchy is bringing the fight to the Miami native!
Anarchy is feeling the momentum as he bounces off of the ropes and races towards the opposite side of the ring where Brooks slowly climbs onto the ring apron and catches Brooks off guard as he comes crashing down to the ring floor!
Tex- ...And Anarchy is feeling it!
Duff- Come Brooks, don’t let this punk beat you!
Anarchy climbs out of the ring and grabbing Brooks and rolls him into the ring for the quick cover only for Brooks to kick out at one!
Anarchy is all smiles, standing to his feet as Heatwave rolls over to slowly gathering his senses. Keeping the aggressive pace, Anarchy races towards Heatwave and drills him with a soccer kick to the stomach, keeping the smaller man off of his feet. Grabbing Heatwave once again, he’s drilled into the mat spinebuster as Anarchy covers again!
One!
Two!
UPSET…NO!
Duff: Soooo close!
Tex: But not close enough!
Heatwave get the shoulder up as Anarchy lets out a cry of primal frustration knowing the upset of the year was only one second away. Grabbing Heatwave by his head, he looks around the ring before whipping Brooks into the ropes and goes for a spear but Brooks rolls out of the way and puts on the brakes! Anarchy stops and turns around and is nearly decapitated as Brooks connects with a leaping clothesline!
Both men are on the ground as Heatwave pounds the mat, wanting to keep his own momentum rolling, climbing to his feet. First to his feet, Brooks grabs Anarchy and brings him to his feet and pops him with a quick European uppercut to follow up with a quick snap neckbreaker but Anarchy grabs Brooks’ throat and turns the tides with chokeslam!
Duff: If Anarchy wants to win this…the time is now! He’s got to capitalize on this moment!
Tex: Get up Heatwave…get up!
Looking down at Heatwave, Anarchy goes back to his bread and butter and sticks to the aggressive ground game, waiting for Heatwave to climb to his feet. Brooks is on Dream Street as he stirs and slowly rises to his feet and with perfect timing Anarchy kicks Brooks in the gut and hoists him in the air for a powerbomb, but Brooks the same page and grabs Anarchy by the head and slams him down with a facebuster!
Tex: Hell yeah! I hope you people had your DVR’s on because you’re going to want to watch that again!
Duff: And the future AWA star has changed the tide with that desperation move!
Like a car accident gone horribly wrong, both men lay in the middle of the ring the AWA-faithful clapping and cheer for both men as Heatwave sits up and pushes himself up to his feet and grabs the hair of Anarchy and whips him into the ropes and misses the clothesline as Anarchy bounces off the ropes again and charges at Heatwave looking for the running knee lift again but Heatwave is ready once again and drills him in the middle of the ring with a monster spear!
Heatwave immediately rolls on top of Anarchy for the pine but only gets the two count as Anarchy shows the heart and determination of a champion!
Duff: How in the hell does that happen?
Tex: Anarchy refuses to be denied tonight!
Heatwave mumbles underneath his breath and shakes his head as Anarchy groans and slowly climbs to his feet and ducks underneath with swinging right hand of Heatwave, who turns around and catches a boot in the midsection and attempts to set Brooks up for the Anarchy Slam!
Duff: Noooooooooo!
But Heatwave kicks his feet uses his frame to slide out from behind and quickly snake an arm underneath the arm of Anarchy and the other across his throat clamping on the modified Kata-Ja-Jime better known at the Black Out! Using his weight Heatwave falls back on the mat, keeping the hold on tight as his locks his legs around Anarchy’s larger body, who struggles to keep the lights on as the referee gets in close to make sure he is sure to continue.
Duff- This is nothing but will power! How long can Anarchy hang on!
Quickly Anarchy taps on Brook’s forearm as the referee calls for the bell.
Stormy: The winner of this match!!! Heatwave!! Nicholas Brooks!!!
Brooks slides out of the ring as he celebrates his victory as he heads to the back
Winner: Nicholas Brooks
Alex Young can be seen sitting on a bench thinking back on his match and shakes his head.
Alex: Next week a final shot to be tag team champion once more and I’ll be damned if I am going to be denied once more. Not this time WCC, not this time.
A grin can be seen coming back on the face of Young as the camera goes back to the arena
Shane West vs. Blake Strummer
Tex: Next up we have Shane West versus Blake Strummer, and what an opportunity for this new up and comer!
Duff: For what, Tex? To have his butt kicked? Since Shane joined the family, he's been more ruthless, more cunning, and more brutal than ever. Normally most people won't consider those admirable traits, but he's got to be doing something right- not only is he the AWA Universal Champion-
Tex: Yeah yeah, he's the longest reigning one in AWA history, and he'll be sure to tell us. I was referring to the opportunity for Blake to pit himself against the Universal Champion! Even though its non-title, could you imagine what a win tonight would mean for his young career?
Duff: That he should wake up, cuz he's dreaming? Anyways', Stormy is in the ring to start us off.
Stormy: Introducing first, from Des Moines, Iowa- he is one half of the team that qualified for tag team title shots at last week's Insomnia, he is BLAKE STRUMMER!
Seeing Red by Minor Threat hits the loudspeakers, and Blake Strummer runs out from backstage, and runs to one end of the ramp trying to hype the crowd, before running to the other, doing the same. Then he sprints down to the ring, sliding under the bottom rope into the ring, and he begins posing on the ringposts for the crowd. As he finishes, Stormy starts to introduce his opponent.
Stormy: His opponent, he is the AWA Universal Champion, he is the Man of a Million Monikers, from Fayetteville, North Carolina- he is The Serial Thrilla, the Impact Playa, The Sensation of Innovation, he is... SHANE WEST!
ENOUGH IS ENOUGH AND ITS TIME FOR A CHANGE! comes blasting over the loudspeakers, and the crowd erupts into jeers. Shane West slowly saunters from backstage, but he's not wearing his ring gear! He's wearing a fine three peice suit, the AWA Universal Title slung over his shoulder. He laughs at the jeers, and grins at Blake Strummer who's standing in the ring, looking up the ramp with a confused expression on his face.
Shane: CUT THE MUSIC!
The crowd erupts into more jeers as he pauses at the top of the rampway, and Shane just seems to soak in the cheers, laughing.
Shane: Yes, "Baaa... Baaa..." I hear you, you damn sheep. But I'm not out here to talk to all of you. No, I'm out here to talk to... you, Blake Strummer.
Blake's confused expression grows into a laugh, and he points to himself, while raising an eyebrow inquisitively. He waves Shane to the ring, and then sits on the second rope, holding the top rope over his shoulder, bridging them apart for Shane to enter, an eager expression on his face.
Shane: You would like that, wouldn't you Strummer. Have me come down there, only for you to try to make your 3 match old career off of my name? Just who in the hell do you think you are? You seriously think you are ready to step in the ring with me? What makes you think you've EARNED THE RIGHT?! You debuted at Wrestlequest. I was in its main event, defeating Hank Henry and cementing my legacy as the longest reigning Universal Champion in AWA History! You have no business being in the same LOCKER ROOM as me, let alone the same ring. So I've just went ahead and done you a favor. I'm not going to step in the ring with you today, Blakey boy.
The crowd is erupting in boos wildly now, and a chant breaks out from the crowd.
YOU'RE A COWARD! *clap clap clap clap clap* YOU'RE A COWARD! *clap clap clap clap clap* YOU'RE A COWARD!
Shane laughs at the top of the ramp, listening to this.
Shane: Really? Coward? I would say that you're stupid, but of course you are, cattle are brainless. So no, Blake, you want to earn your name, you get to do it off someone else, because you don't DESERVE a shot at me. Then again, neither does Chris Shipman.
The crowd erupts at hearing the name of the number one contender.
Shane: Oh yes, you like hearing that name, don't you? Well, let me make one thing VERY clear. I'm not a coward. I've participated in the bloodiest matches the AWA has ever seen, and more so, I've won every single damned one of them. That being said, I'm sure that Chris Shipman wants to make our match some brutal hardcore barbed wire extravaganza. Well let me make one thing very damned clear. I'm the Epitome of Extreme. I'm the Hardcore Hero. So I say... NO!
That's right cattle, you heard me right. NO! I've bled and shortened my legendary career time and again just so that you masochistic sycophants can cheer at this modern day gladiatorial combat. Well, screw you! I'm not putting my body, my livelihood, my legacy, and my title on the line in some match that could cost me everything. So Shipman, I've come to issue a DIFFERENT challenge. Ultimate Submission. A 45 minute long Iron man match, where you can't leave the ring, and the only way to get a point is via submission. You want to prove you are a better wrestler than I am? THEN PROVE IT THE RIGHT WAY. I mean, sure, I know you and you're type. You're probably clutching that chair I crushed over your skull right now, holding onto it like its some god damn momento. Well, throw it aside, because at our next big event, Bloody Maple Leaf, we're going to show what Wrestling REALLY is... well, I will at least. You? You'll just-
Shane is cut off as Shipman comes running from backstage holding a steel folding chair that has dents on it. He cracks it over the back of Shane, and Shane drops his microphone, sprawling forward down the ramp way. The universal title falls off his shoulder sprawling to the floor as well. Shane howls in pain as Shipman cracks the chair over his back again. Shane fights back to his feet, and Shipman throws him into the set, sending Shane sprawling over by the edge of where the stage falls. Shipman walks over to the microphone, picking it up.
Shipman: You're right, Shane. I have been holding on to this chair. Just for you. These dents in it? They were from my skull... my blood. Now? We'll share it. As for your offer?
Shipman throws the steel folding chair to Shane as he starts to stand, at the edge of the stage. Shane catches it out of reflex, and Shipman hits a VICIOUS Van Daminator, kicking the chair straight into Shane's face, sending Shane flying off the stage and down 10 feet through a wooden table.
Duff: MEDIC!! MEEEEEEDIC! MAN DOWN MAN DOWN!
Tex: Dear God, Shane West may be broken in half!
Shipman: As for your offer... I'll consider it.
Seven Days to the Wolves blares over the P.A. The crowd begins to boo loudly as the Man in Black walks out wearing a black Armani suit. The AWA International title is draped over his shoulder and he has a microphone in his hand. He makes his way to the ring, and steps in. He looks around the crowd here in New Delhi, and gets that sarcastic smirk on his face. He slowly raises the mic to his lips
