Anthony Phoenix: Cut the music...
Anthony begins to pace around as he speaks.
Anthony Phoenix: Last week my two so called stable mates Chaos and Matthew decided that they weren’t going to play nice anymore. Some have wondered where that leaves me...well, hold on one minute.
Anthony stops talking and walks over to the side of the ring nearest the rampway.
Anthony Phoenix: First I think Toddi and Chaos need to hear this up close and personal. Toddi...Chaos, get your asses out here.
A very reluctant Chaos comes walking out followed by his brother Matthew Toddi who attacked him last week. Once inside the ring Chaos attempts to attack Matthew and vice versa. Anthony sees this and puts a stop to it.
Anthony Phoenix: Vincenzo, Paulino if you please?
Both Paulio and Vincenzo pull Chaos and Toddi apart. They struggle to get free as Anthony continues to speak.
Anthony Phoenix: Now the question of the day remains, just who the hell am I going to stick with or am I even going to tough this out. Well after a long hard couple of days of thinking, I’ve come to the conclusion that...BOYS YOU KNOW WHAT TO DO!!
Both Vincenzo and Paulino start to beat down on both Toddi and Chaos. Stomping away at both. Once Anthony is satisfied that the job is done, he calls them off.
Anthony Phoenix: Well I guess that’s your answer. And since neither of you are Well enough to say it, I will. AXiOM is through, finished, caput, finito. From now on it’s going to be me, myself and I since it seems that I was the only one around here trying to keep this crap together. Well no more.
Anthony then turns his attention back to the camera as a mixed chorus of boos and cheers rain down on him from the crowd.
Anthony Phoenix: Now with that done...my focus can now go to where it’s really important, The Family.
The crowd starts a Family chant.
Anthony Phoenix: You see 13, Barnhart: the only reason you even got the duke on me was because Ty rang my family jewels several times. I’m not going to make a big excuse but tell me this if someone had just done that to you would you be at 100%? I take it the answer would be no. So guess what I’m not going to accept that loss and that’s that. You can go and cry to Goth all you want but in the grand scheme of things it won’t really matter. It’s a damn shame I had to do what I just did as now it seems that I don’t have a tag team partner, so guess what? Your tag titles will remain as safe as safe can be for the mean time. And as for Ty, you claim to be the anti-virus of the AWA; well son, in actuality you are nothing but a Trojan in disguise and soon; very soon, I will system wipe you out of AWA’s memory. Let’s go boys: NOW PLAY MY MUSIC!!
Anthony places the microphone on the mat as both he and his body guards exit the ring leaving both Toddi and Chaos still writhing in pain. Insomnia goes to commercial as all three make their exit.
An AWA cameraman has been allowed into the locker room of Sean Randall, who has chosen not to give a direct interview nor to address the fans publicly. It's focus time. He is sat on a wooden bench, leaning on his thighs looking blankly at the floor
Sean Randall: Morbius... plans do not have to be grand in order to work. The most simple of ideas can go a long way, as I shall prove over the coming weeks. My plan for tonight is even more straight forward - to step back into the Asylum and make my point in the most brutal of manners. You're right, I have let my true colours shine... and I'm glad they offended you, because I'm not here to make friends. Whether our ultimate goal is the same or not, mine is a personal mission that I will undertake on my own. Wannabe's are not welcome.
What is beating Goth going to satisfy? Do I even need to answer that question? You seemed put off that I knew very little about you, but you clearly know nothing at all about me and my past. I have a score to settle with Goth. A bitter taste in my mouth that I need to sweeten. Any little sideshows that I have to go through before hand are merely practise for the big one. After I'm finished putting Goth straight, who knows? I haven't thought that far ahead. I haven't needed to. What would be the point? Getting ahead of yourself is one of the primary flaws in all human beings. Which is why you and Fang have made the mistake of trying to predict how the match will flow... you haven't got a clue, son. And for that reason I pity you, because it's clear that your lack of knowledge about my ability and my fighting spirit are the things that will prove to be your downfall. You claim that I haven't been in a match this difficult before? Heh... ask Bill Barnhart. Ask Rex Butler. Ask Goth himself. I look forward to giving you a very thorough education on what it is I do, and do very often in the ring...
Hurt people.
Jonathan... to say I followed you, Metamania and Irons is one of the most beautiful lies you have ever shat out of your mouth. It's up there with the other gem that followed it; that Goth does all of this just to protect his interests... The Master Bullshitter strikes again. You can protect business interests without being a corrupt, referee-bribing, match fixing asshole... this is something your family seems to miss tragically. Apparently I always needed someone to watch my back... first of all I was following... which one is it, Jonathan? Your mind seems to be all at sea as to what I want, and then you turn around and claim to know me better than anyone. You're full of it, aren't you?
But after all the talking is done... and there's been a lot of it... the one thing you conclude is that I don't have much left in me anymore...
Tonight... I prove to you just how wrong you are.
Sean smirks into the camera, clasping his hands together and standing to his feet. He lets out a deep breath and makes his way to the backstage area ready for his entrance
The camera pans to backstage where Morbius is standing there in his, “New Terror,” shirt and a pair of faded blue jeans. He takes his sunglasses off and looks at the camera.
Morbius: So I’m standing here thinking about Wrestle Quest and wondering what I want my pick to be for Fang and I’s match. It could be a Hell in a Cell match. It could be a Barbed Wire Rope match. It could be a Gaultlet on a Pole match. Hell, it could even be a fight through the streets match. I just can’t decide. I am way to excited to make a decision right now and I think that will hold you all in a little bit more suspense. Next week I will let you all know what the first match is going to be.
Morbius smiles and the scene cuts away to a commercial for Wrestle Quest.
Sean Randall vs. Fang vs. Morbius Tassius
Stormy: Introducting first From Long Pond, PA. Weighting in at 220lbs. Jonathan Porter, AKA FFFFFAAAAAANNG!
The arena goes dark, fog hits the entrance as red light fills the fog. Seven Days of the Wolves by Nightwish cues up and the fans begin to boo. On the titan-tron a big quill pen and a piece of black paper appear. The Pen looks as if it's writing something and then the paper turns and in large cursive red letters is the name Fang. Then under that the phrase "Sign your name on the line and your soul is mine" Fang walks out of the fog wearing a suit and tie and carrying with him a rolled up piece of black paper in his right hand. He makes his way to the ring ,as the lights come back up, and he looks around at the crowd. He holds up the paper and mouths "YOU ALL WANT SOMETHING" and then he rubs his fingers together "IT'S GOING TO COST YOU". He waits for his opponent looking our at the crowd and taunting them. While he waits he also takes off his suit jacket and hands it to a ring attendant. he loosens his collar and rolls up the sleeves on his dress shirt.
Stormy: And now coming from Des Moines, IA. Weighing in at 240lbs it’s MMMMMORBIUS TASSIUUUUUUUUUUSS!!
Not Falling By Mudvayne starts to blare over the speakers as the crowd goes wild. The words, “Greatness Redefined,” come across the titan-tron. The song builds up through the first verse as Morbius walks out from behind the curtains wearing only a pair of Execution shorts. His hands and feet are tapped to the forearm and shin and he starts to walk down the ramp way. He kneels about halfway down and waits. The chorus hits and pyro explodes from the stage and sides of the ramp way as he jumps to his feet. He continues to move down to the ring with one fist in the air. Morbius gets on to the ring apron and then uses the top rope to springboard flip into the middle of the ring. The crowd is booming as the pyro dies down. He moves to all four corners and raises his fist into the air and then pats his chest to the crowd showing that hint of old times.
Stormy: And finally Returning to the ring all the way from London, England. Weighting in at 238lbs we have Sean Randall, AKA CAAAAAAAANIS!!
The arena lights begin to flicker slightly, drawing the crowd to their feet. Within a few moments, the haunting opening riff of 'Better' by Guns N' Roses fills the arena via the huge PA speakers and the crowd erupt into an array of cheers and applause, the flickering of the lights becoming more obvious. "No one ever told me when i was alone, they just thought i'd know better... better" A glass crucifix fills the giant Tron screen as the opening lyrics are chanted. "No one ever told me when i was alone, they just thought I'd know better... better" Then, as the opening bar of the song crashes into play, the crucifix smashes into a thousand pieces accompanied by an explosion of white and scarlet pyro's from the stage. As the embers settle, Sean Randall brushes aside the entrance curtain and strides out on the stage, absorbing the adulation of those cheering his name. After a few moments, Randall heads for the ring, his face motionless but for an occasional wry grin as he acknowledges the fans in the front row. He takes a run up to the ring and slides under the bottom rope, jumping to his feet with his arms raised, his expression a fixed stare. He visits each side of the arena before settling down to focus on his opponent.. the music gradually fading.
Tex: This should be a great starting match. These three men just hate each other, and I think that will drive them to give their best.
: Please, Morbs and Canis hate Fang, but those guys don’t even know each other. Fangs just going to get curb stomped up there.
The ref motions for the bell as all three men start in on each other. Fang and Morbius lock up, and just as Morbius begins to take the upper hand Canis jumps in with a stiff dropkick sending both men to the mat. Tassius is first to rise as Fang slides to the outside of the ring. Fang slowly walks backwards up the ramp watching Morbius and Canis. Morbius attempts to rush out of the ring toward Fang, but Canis has other plans as he locks for a Cobra Clutch. Morbius quickly grabs hold of the ropes as the ref barks at Canis to let go. Canis releases Morbius but quickly gives him a kick to the abs.
Duff: I think Fang has some plans but it seems Canis just doesn’t care.
Tex: You’re right Duff, Canis is just going for the Win. Hope Morbius can fight his way out of this.
Morbius buckles over as Canis rushes to the other side of the ring. He springs himself off the ropes and goes for a baseball slide onto Morbius who rolls out of the ring. Before Canis has a chance to recover Morbius grabs his foot and drags Canis out of the ring and onto the cold concrete below. Canis hits hard and takes a moment to get to his feet. Morbius uses that moment to bum rush Fang who is nearly backstage already. The two men begin their assaults of lefts and rights, both getting really good shots in. Fang continues to move them back stage. Finally Canis gets back into this with a Dropkick out of no where, which sends both men off of the side of the ramp. Morbius lands on a wooden barricade as Fang narrowly misses it and ends up in the crowd.
Tex: Oh No! I hope they’re all ok.
Duff: OOOH! Now that's how you get the upper hand in a match like this.
Fang staggers to his feet just in time to see Canis flying through the air to land a devastating Moon Assault sending both men crashing to the floor. Morbius regains his wits as Canis goes for the cover on Fang. The ref rushes over for 1... 2... Morbius breaks it up with a sledge hammer punch to Canis’ back. Morbius grabs Canis by the hair and drags him to his feet just to Irish whip him over the barricade. Morbius then turns his attention back to Fang who has returned to his feet. He roars with a bestial vigor which Morbius responds with a roar of his own. The two men charge at each other. The impact of flesh hitting flesh echoes over the roar of the crowd. Somehow during the brawl Fang gets Morbius on his back and begins slamming fist after fist into Morbius’ face. Tassius’ forehead splits open and oozes blood which sends a shiver down Fangs spine, putting his teeth on edge.
Duff: My God, Fang’s going to kill him!
Tex: That can’t be right come on ref do something!?
Duff: Sorry Tex, this is a falls count anywhere and rules are only in the ring.
Just then Canis chucks the wooden barricade at Fang. Fang lands face first into the concrete as Canis rushes over for the pin on Morbius. 1...2... Suddenly Fang delivers a field goal kick into Canis’ face. This gives Morbius enough time to get back to his feet. Fang goes for a Big Boot but Morbius ducks under the leg and lifts Fang into the air before bringing him back down in a beautiful power bomb. Fang rolls around trying to breathe but he just can’t quite take a breath. Morbius not letting Fang regain his composure grabs that same wooden barricade and drives it into the mid section of Fang. Fang yelps in pain as Morbius locks up with Canis. Morbius pushes Canis back just enough for Morbius to kick him in the midsection. Canis folds over and Morbius pulls out one of his classic moves. Morbius rolls around to Canis’ back and locks in a modified Full Nelson. In a show of sheer strength Morbius lifts Canis into the air and Slams him face first into the Barricade. The sudden impact makes Fang howl in pain as Canis goes limp.
Tex: YEAH! Go Morbius! The Crucifixion! Its been WAY too long since we’ve seen that.
Duff: You know this is one of the few times we agree on something Tex.
The crowd goes wild chanting MOR-BI-US, MOR-BI-US, MOR-BI-US. Morbius raises his hands giving them what they want as Fang gets back to his feet. Morbius turns around just in time to be hit by a gruesome Fatal Shot. Morbius grabs at his throat as he gasp for air. Fang just smiles as he gently places his foot onto Morbius’ throat. Fang adds more and more pressure as Morbius’s lips turn a blueish hue. Canis not wanting to lose this fight gets his second wind and leaps to his feet. He spins on the ball of his foot delivering a Boot to the face to Fang. Fang stumbles backwards, but quickly recovers. There was a fire fight of lefts and rights.
Duff: Come on Fang, kick his ash!
Tex: Well, at least he has one fan.
Duff: Hey now. The people may hate him but he knows what he is doing in that ring.
Tex: True but even out of shape Canis seems pretty even with him.
Fang grabs at the back of Canis’ head and brings it down onto his knee. Canis stumbles backward holding onto his head as Fang turns to stomp on the throat of Morbius just for good measure. Fang drops for the cover as the ref drops for the count. 1... 2...3... Canis jumps in just a little to late as the ref calls for the Match.
DING DING DING
Canis screams in frustration as he storms off backstage. The Ref holds Fangs hand into the air as the crowd boos and hisses.
Stormy: And your Winner, by pin fall, is FFFFFFFAAAAAAAAAAAAANG!
Winner: Fang
The roving cameraman is seen walking down the halls in the Asian World Arena. As he approaches the dressing room of Bill Barnhart he notices that the door is ajar and he can hear two men talking. The cameraman quietly walks up to the door and he gently pushes the door open a little more so he can get a clear shot of the men. When he does we see that Bill Barnhart and John Gold are having a conversation before their match later in the evening.
BILL BARNHART: How ya feeling young man? Are you ready to go out there and successfully defend the Tag Team Titles against Anthony Phoenix and Alex Young?
JOHN GOLD: Yes I am! By the way, are you sure it is okay with Th1rt3en that I am taking his spot on a Tag Team Title defense match?
BILL BARNHART: Th1rt3en wouldn't have asked you to step up to the plate if he didn't feel you could hit a home run. Besides, when you think about it, Th1rt3en should easily defeat the others in the mini-Battle Royal and get his shot at the Universal Title. Giving that shot I can assure you that Th1rt3en will be the next Universal Champion and then he would have to drop one of the two Title Belts he holds. Well, actually he holds three if you count the Television Title which he hasn't officially dropped...it simply went into semi-retirement until Goth wishes to bring it back. The normal procedure would be to keep the highest ranking Title Belt and drop the lower ranking one. And when Th1rt3en wins the Universal Title and drops his half of the Tag Team Titles then I would choose his replacement and that is you anyway.
JOHN GOLD: Thanks Bill that means a lot coming from you. I do want to get back at Anthony Phoenix as he was in Axiom Stable with me. But I don't have anything personal against Alex Young.
BILL BARNHART: I honestly don't have anything personal with anyone here in Asylum Wrestling Alliance. I just don't like those who wish to take my Title Belt away from me and I strive to perform as well as I can for the benefit of the fans. Trust me, John, we are gonna show the world what we can accomplish, and we won't even have to perform at more than 50 percent to accomplish that against Phoenix and Young.
JOHN GOLD: I hear ya Bill!
As Bill Barnhart and John Gold HIGH FIVE each other they catch a glimpse of the cameraman peeking his camera into the dressing room and broadcasting images of them without their permission. Bill walks over to the door and we see his big hand push into the camera lens and shove the cameraman backward and onto the hallway floor. The last image we see is a view of the ceiling as the cameraman is flat on his back with his camera pointing up to the ceiling. The only sound we can hear is Barnhart cursing the cameraman and then the noise of his dressing room door slamming shut.
Alex Young can be seen tying his shoelaces as he notices the camera and grins
Alex: YO!! What’s up my friends? You are checking to see the future tag team champion? Look no further, you are looking at him. And guess what my boyos? I’m here to stay!!
The door gets slammed shut as we go to the next scene
John Gold is stood with Stormy Canyon backstage waiting to say a few words.
Stormy- Well John, tonight you take part in your first matchup as a member of the West Coast Connection and also as a member of the very powerful force that is The Family. You must defend a title which as you said earlier this week, is not really yours to defend. How much pressure does that put you under going into the match and if you fail to retain what do you think the reaction from your stable mate Thirteen will be?
Gold- Your right Stormy, tonight I’m defending a title which in truth is not rightfully mine. And in truth I should really be under the most intense pressure I’ve ever been under yet as an Asylum superstar but you know what? I’m not under any pressure what so ever. Thirteen knows his strap is safe and he can concentrate on winning his own match. I’m looking forward to dismantling Phoenix and Young just like I dismantled AxiOM. Bill and myself will get the job done and that’s all I have to say about it.
With that Gold turns away and leaves Stormy signalling for the cameraman to cut the scene as the show goes to a commercial.
West Coast Connection (Bill Barnhart & John Gold) vs. Anthony Phoenix & Alex Young
Deep Purple, Perfect Strangers hits on the speaker system. No darkness, no Pyros, no over the top camera effects. As the beat of Deep Purple, Perfect Strangers kicks in John Gold appears from the back grasping a white sports towel.
Stormy Canyon: The following contest is scheduled for one fall and is for the AWA Tag Team Championships! Introducing first one half of the AWA Tag Team Champions weighing in at 260lbs, JOOOOOOHN GOOOOOLD!!!
Duff: And this kicks off our next match folks
Tex: Time for some gold to be defend here on Insomnia Duff, AWA always giving the fans want they want to see
His eyes are completley fixed on the ring as he makes his way past the adoring AwA hardcore fans. Fans try to get a touch of one of the brightest young talents the business has to offer today but he is unfazed. When he reaches the ring he slides under the bottom rope, heads to the furthest away corner and raises his arm before tossing his white sports towel into the front row of seats. He climbs down from the turnbuckle and turns, always looking intense and ready for the gauntlet that stands before him.
Duff: In-case your wondering folks, the West Coast Connection have enforced the free-bird ruling for themselves meaning at any one time any of the three members can team up to defend the belts
Stormy Canyon: And his partner weighing in at 240lbs, from Oakland CA, he is BILLLLLL BAAAAAAARNHART!!!
TAKING CARE OF BUSINESS by Bachman Turner Overdrive hits the speaker. The TRON crackles to life and we see a close-up shot of Bill Barnhart and Iris his English Bulldog. The TRON then shifts scenes to seversl clips of Bill's wrestling matches where he is either administering his Bulldog or Piledriver to his opponent for the pinfall, or he is using one of his many submission moves to make them tap out. The spotlights focus on the backstage curtains and we see Bulldog Bill Barnhart step through the curtains leading Iris on her leash (Iris is not always present at Bill's matches though - so please check his promos for the week to see if Iris was left home or not). Bill comes out dressed in one of his trademark wrestling outfits (either the pink outfit with black trim witn ablack heart sewn over his heart...or the black outfit with pink trimp with a pink heart swen over si heart). Iris is dressed in her Pink Diamond-Studded Dog Collar. Bill walks confidently along the entrance walkway and under the TRON. As he walks under the TRON, pink and white pyros erupt causing a cascade of pink sparks to spill down on the entrance walkway around Bill (and Iris if she is accompanying him). Bill stops at the landing at the top of the entrance ramp to play the crowd with a huge smile on his face even though he gets mostly boos from the crowd. He then takes off with a quick pace to the ring. When Bill arrives at the ring he (hands the leash of Iris to an attendant at ringside) climbs the ring steps, walks along the ring apron, and then ducks through the ropes into the ring. Bill walks around the ring to acknowledge all the people in the crowd and he maintains his huge smile all the time although the crowd is booing him for his bad turn. Bill then takes up residence in a corner to await the arrival of his opponent.
Tex: These guys are my picks right here Duff, the WCC have been on a roll as of late and I don't they are ever going to lose the belts
Duff: Well we will see by the end of this match Tex, they have some steady competition here tonight
Stormy Canyon: And their opponents, introducing first weighing in at 215lbs, he is the king of controversy, AAAANTHOOOONEY PHOOOOENIX!!!
The lights go out with just a solid blue spot light aimed at the middle of the stage. “The Truth Shall Set Me Free” by Story of the Year begins to play as a man with a long hooded robe comes walking out. The crowd sits in stunned silence as the man stands center stage with his head down while the guitar rif is heard.
As soon as the singer starts to sing, the hooded man raises his head and rips off the hood to reveal that it’s Anthony Phoenix with his new bald headed look. Flashing a sinister smile across his face, Anthony starts to walk towards the ring with a very determined gate.
The crowd rains down a mixture of boos and cheers but nothing fazes Anthony. He makes it to the edge of the ring and looks around as the camera closes in on his face the sinister smile is still on his face as he slides under the bottom rope. Once inside Anthony stands and opens his arms wide as he walks over to the side nearest the cameras. The music ends as he slowly takes off the dark robe.
Stormy Canyon: And his partner from Miami, Florida weighing in at 255lbs. AAAAALEEEX YOOOOOOUNG!!!
John Gold starts the match as Bill goes out onto the apron and John turns around right into a right hand from Alex young catching Gold off guard as the bell is sounded to commence this match
Duff: And this one is underway!
Tex: Come on that was a cheap shot! Do your job ref!
Alex sends out another right hand, then one more sending John to the canvas but he stands right back up to his feet, Alex grabs John Gold by the arm then whips him to the ropes but as he comes back Alex clotheslines him down to the canvas, he drops down and covers John Gold, pushing his arm into his face, referee gets to the canvas to the count but just about gets a one count, Alex stands up pulling John to his feet and tries to whip him into the corner turn-buckle but John counters it sending Alex into the corner hard, the impact makes Alex stumble forward out of the corner right into a strong clothesline from John Gold. The tag champion locks in a sleeper hold onto Alex Young
Duff: Alex came out the gate strong trying to take it to the champions....
Tex: Yeah but now John Gold has shown his strengths, Alex did come out the gate and then ran into a brick wall known as the WCC, count this one over folks
Duff: I wouldn't count out Alex just yet he is trying to get to his feet
Alex begins to get to his feet trying to fight off the sleeper hold, gaining momentum as he is on his feet he begins to struggle and John Gold won't let him fight his way out of it by jumping on Alex's back and forcing him to drop back down to the canvas, Alex is beginning to weaken, the life being squeezed out of him little by little
Tex: John is just a few seconds from ending this one... wait what the hell....
Anthony Phoenix runs in and kicks Gold breaking up the sleeper hold, Barnhart shouts at the referee with directions as the ref pulls back Anthony to his side, Alex Young now free of the hold tries to get the tag but the referee is telling Anthony to get on the apron blocking Alex from the tag, John pulls him back and sends him to the opposite side of the ring before tagging in Bill Barnhart, the referee turns around just in time to see the tag
Tex: Excellent team work thus far
Bill kicks Alex in the gut before slamming him with a hard right hand rocking the youngster back, then one more, Bill goes for another boot but Alex catches the boot and trips Bill up with his other leg, Alex runs over to John who is now on the apron and connects with a right hand knocking John from the apron to the floor much to his disgust of John, Alex turns around and Bill is now to his feet, Alex connects with a big time drop kick, Alex heads over to his corner, Bill is trying to come to his senses but is too late as Alex makes the tag
Duff: Here we go, Alex got himself back into this and now here comes Anthony!
He storms into the ring and hits a forearm to Bill rocking him back to the ropes, Bill gets Irish whipped to the far side, Alex Young connects with a kick to the back of Bill, the Bulldog turns around looking at Alex for the cheap shot which gives Anthony the chance of walking up behind the Bulldog and hitting a big back suplex then quickly covering.... ONE.... TWO and a kick out by the tag team champion, John climbs back up onto the apron and trying to cheer on his partner, Anthony now stands to his feet dragging Barnhart up with him who then quickly gets a DDT for his trouble, Anthony covers once more ONE.... TWO.... and another kick out, Anthony now stands to his feet and begins to walk to his corner but gets caught by his ankle out of no where by Barnhart who locks in the Ankle Lock, Anthony screaming out in pain as he locks it in tight, Anthony is trying to crawl over to the ropes, slowly dragging his way over and reaches out to the ropes, the crowd is going crazy but then he gets dragged back to the centre of the ring by Bill who locks the ankle lock in deeper, Anthony is screaming out, Alex Young has seen enough and tries to step in but the referee gets in his way, his back to Bill Barnhart and Anthony who now drags his way over to the rope, reaches out..... and grabs the rope..... BUT of course the referee doesn't see it, Bill keeps the hold in, the referee manages to get Alex Young Back in his corner all the while Anthony is dragged back to the centre of the ring once more as the ref turns around to see Phoenix holding his head and then banging the mat once
Tex: This is it.... its over.... TAP!
Duff: He just won't quit, neither of these guys are going to give up on their chance at tag team gold here Tex, they have held out so far and have given the WCC a run for their money!
Phoenix with one last ditch effort turns onto his back and kicks Bill back to his corner, John Gold blind tags in as Anthony claws his way to his corner, Alex is ready for the tag, Anthony stands to his feet and is ready to make the tag but John Gold turns Anthony around but he is ready for it and smashes Gold in the face with a right hand rocking him back a step or two, Anthony turns and jumps making the tag with Alex who storms the ring with a clothesline, Gold stands to his feet and charges at Alex who lays him out with a big time SPINEBUSTER!!! the cover, the count.... ONE..... TWOOOOO..... THRE..... NO! Alex now points to the ropes and begins to climb to the top rope and flies off the top with a big elbow drop connecting it, ONE..... TWO...... Alex can't believe it as he goes for another cover but John flips him over into a cover of his own ONE...... TWO..... Alex now kicks out, the both stands to their feet, they run to opposite sides of the ring bouncing off the ropes, Alex ducks under a clothesline they bounce off both ropes once more, this time John ducks a clothesline attempt from Alex, the two bounce off the ropes once more and now both men connect with a double clothesline, the two hit the canvas with their arms both drapped over one another, after a second of confusion by the referee he drops down to count both men down ONE..... TWO..... THR.... Both men kick out!
Tex: This is getting exhausting to watch, its just non stop action Duff
Duff: your telling me... near fall after near fall after near fall, who is going to walk out of this as tag team champions!?
Bill now runs into the ring and kicks down onto Alex Young and Phoenix has seen enough climbs to the top rope and flies off with a drop kick hitting Bulldog down Anthony now stands to his feet, John gets up and gets hit with a big right and is pushed to the ropes, then whipped to the far ropes but Gold comes back and hits a SPEAR!! Out of no where, big time connection to Phoenix, Gold stands up with his back to Alex Young who grabs John with a Russian leg sweep, Alex stands up and Bill now grabs the youngster pulling him in for a pile driver signalling for the end
Tex: This is it!
Bill goes to hit the pile driver but then Alex Young backdrops him over countering the move, Alex stalks Bill who gets back to his feet slowly but surely, Bill runs at Alex who amazingly hits a massive SIDE WALK SLAM!!!
Tex: NO!
Duff: The referee is struggling to keep control here.... this is one hell of a contest though
Alex stands up turning around into a sudden kick from John and grabs Alex by the head.... PURE GOLD!!!! the referee hits the canvas ONE...... TWO..... THRE.... NO!! Anthony breaks up the count!
Tex: This ain’t right damn it! This should be over already
John rakes the eyes of Anthony and sends him to the far corner into the turn-buckles, he turns around and Bill is on the apron and tags him in, the two men walk over to Anthony and begin a vicious beat down with kicks and punches before whipping him to the far corner, Anthony amazingly jumps to the second rope bounces back, turning in mid air and catching the two men with a double clothesline, John Gold stands up and gets hit by a big time clothesline once more by Anthony who used so much force he dived over the top rope with him, both men falling over the top and to the floor, Barnhart gets to his feet, distracted by what just happened looks over the top rope down at his partner out on the floor and with his back turned Alex Young suddenly grabs Barnhart from behind catching Bulldog unaware, shoulders to the mat... referee dives in for the count and the crowd counts along with him, ONE..... TWO..... THREEEE!!!!!
Tex: WHAT!!!!
Duff: NEW CHAMPIONS!!
Tex: This can't be.... this can't be happening.... I want a recount.... a do over....best 2 out of 3....anything! these guys can't have beaten the WCC
Duff: Well take a look Tex because no matter what you say the just did beat the West Coast Connection
Alex stands tall in the ring and is handed the championship belt, Anthony climbs into the ring with his new piece of gold and both men raise the belt into the air as new tag team champions as we cut to commercial break as the WCC stand outside the ring not believing what just happened
Winners: Anthony Phoenix & Alex Young
Matthew Toddi's theme hits and he walks out with a microphone, he then walks into the ring and begins to speak with a sea of booing fans watching him, yelling and screaming at him.
Toddi: Now, I know you are all probably wanting en explanation to what I did last week. And I am pretty sure Chaos does as well, don't you bro. Well, you will all find out at the same time, and that time will be when I feel like telling the world. When I feel the time is right for everyone to know. That will be in a matter of weeks.
Toddi: If anyone is still wondering what I am talking about. Last week, I MKO'ed Chaos and came out to what I did. What I did you may ask? I was the one who ran a car into his and caused him injury over Christmas. He was in a vegetated state and I, and the rest of my family helped him to get better. But they healed him for a different reason to me. They did it to help him, I did it to prove a point and this will all get explained in a matter of days or maybe weeks. But it will all be revealed ready for WrestleQuest III! Right now, I am in a new frame of mind. I am the 'new' Matthew Toddi. But nothing has really changed. I am still a believer in truth, I still live my life sin free. The difference you may ask, is not being pulled down all of the time, to set myself free and to inflict more pain than ever before.
Tex: What does he mean?
Duff: As he says, only time will tell!
Matthew Toddi's theme hits as he exits the ring.
Hank Henry III vs. 13 vs. Chris Shipman vs. Ty the Tech Guy vs. Max Maxim
Stormy: The following match is tonights Main Event!! The match will be contested under Battle Royal rules and it is for the number one contendership for the Universal championship belt at Wrestle Quest III!!! The first wrestler to come down the aisle stands in at 6’3 and weighing in at 235 pounds!! Hailing from Georgian Woods!!! The reverend!!! Chris Shipman!!!
The arena lights go out except for one spotlight on the entranceway at the curtains. A funeral march of drummers, trumpets, and a choir march up the entranceway. They are shortly followed by the Reverend Chris Shipman who emerges holding a bible and cross high in the air and seemingly blesses the crowd and Synn following him clapping and directing the fans to do so. Shipman gets in the ring sets the bible and cross down in the middle of the ring. He begins praying before derobing in his wrestling attire as the lights come back on and the march stops singing and playing and exits the arena. Synn and Shipman share a few words before Synn takes his spot outside the ring.
”The Truth Shall Set Me Free” begins to play as Anthony appears from the backstage area onto the rampway with his two body guards: Vincenzo and Paulino. He is wearing a “Phoenix=Xtreme” wrestling T-shirt and big tan cargo shorts, large Oakley shades while they are wearing solid black. He is also holding a microphone in his left hand. Not looking to amused, Anthony makes his way towards the ring as several fans in the crowd nearest the rampway try to make contact with him. Once he gets to the ring, Anthony slides underneath the bottom rope. He stands and looks directly at the camera and scowls. Both his bodyguards stand on either side emotionless.
